So here I am trying to do some catch up work on the computer. I have my household budget on Quick Books and am doing much needed data input. In the background is a screaming 10 month old baby. His mommy, my d-i-l, is not feeling well and my heart goes out to her. I remember those days. She came down with a cold yesterday. I remember taking care of my babies and being so exhausted I couldn't think straight especially when I was ill. So after spending the day chasing the little boy aro...

Continuing on where we left off we now come to Revelation 7:9-17 which says: 9After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands, 10and crying out with a loud voice, saying, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!” 11All the angels stood around the throne and the elders ...

We had a great weekend in Kennebunkport. It turned out to be a beautiful weekend in a small quaint Maine village amongst the few tourists milling around and very few on the beach. I'm sure when the Bush's are in town things are much different. We had a Pastor's Conference to attend. Last year this conference was held in Vermont. This year they decided to have this conference in Kennebunkport. Just weeks ago this place was quite the busy place when both the President of the Soviet U...

Got this story from a friend and thought it was quite thought provoking. Does evil exist or is it better stated that evil is just the absence of something good? Let me explain the problem science has with religion." The atheist professor of philosophy pauses before his class and then asks one of his new students to stand. "You're a Christian, aren't you, son?" "Yes sir," the student says. "So you believe in God?" "Absolutely." "Is God good?" "Sure! God's good." ...

Continuing on with the Apocalypse we come to Chapter 7 and will read verses 1-8. We read this: 1After these things I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, on the sea, or on any tree. 2Then I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God. And he cried with a loud voice to the four angels to whom it was granted to harm the earth and the sea, 3saying, “Do not ...

"There are three kinds of pollution today: real, hysterical, and political ." Ain't that the truth! Lately political seems to be the thickest! The question is, how in the world do we clean it up? ""

This world is getting crazier by the minute. What will they think of next....hmmmmm? The latest craziness is the fact that playground tag is now being banned in an elementary school in Colorado. Why you might ask? I thought at first maybe somebody was being pushed or shoved. Nope. That wasn't it. The reason (and I'm not making this up) is there is too much conflict on the playground. Kids were starting to complain about being harassed. Harassed? How in the world can one be...

I'm just thinking of having a huge yard/garage sale. Unlike others, this doesn't float my boat. I have years of accumulated stuff. With the kids gone we have less reason to hang onto much of it and new furniture sounds nice. In 25 years of marriage I've only had one brand new living room set which is the same set I have now. I started out with a new set I bought when I was 18 so that's what came into the marriage and after three babies had to get another set about halfway through. ...

We've already covered the first five seals opened by the Lamb of God and now we're about to read of the opening of the sixth seal which is to be the most frightening yet. Opening up this seal is like the first act of an end time play revealing a very disturbing scene with more to come. First the text: 12I looked when He opened the sixth seal, and behold, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became like blood. 13And the stars of hea...

I've had a very busy week. What's new? Seems as tho my life is in overdrive lately. The top story here is the grandbaby has come to Maine for the first time ever. He's adorable....of course. He's a got a book full of funny faces to show us. He's quite the little man full of expression and quite the little charmer...just like his daddy. Today I took Amanda and Ethan to church for a ladies study and a produce pickup. Of course he stole the show. Without fail you clap your hand...

Moving right along in Revelation 6 as we read about the 5th seal, we look at v9-11 to read: 9When He opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain for the word of God and for the testimony which they held. 10And they cried with a loud voice, saying, “How long, O Lord, holy and true, until You judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?” 11Then a white robe was given to each of them; and it was said to them that they should rest a littl...

It's good to be back home!! We've been on the road for about 10 days and now we need a vacation to rest up from the vacation we just had. It was not at all restful. In fact, we're both pretty exhausted. This is quite the norm for us. We never seem to really have relaxing vacations like normal people do. I had it all planned.....or so I thought. That is, until David informed us a day or so before that he was intending to ask Aly to marry him during our vacation. This was after ...

I'm heading out again. Tomorrow we leave for VA and then onto FL. We are going to help drive David and gear down for his last year of college. We'll hang around a bit with him. I'd like to run on the new indoor track again. We'll probably hit our favorite running place, Blackwater Trail in Lynchburg. We plan on meeting friends down there and going to Falwell's church which is always a highlight for us. Then on Monday of next week, we'll fly to Orlando, pick up a rental and...

I got behind so I'm cranking now. We are going to look at the breaking of the seals and the first thing we see are the four Apocalyptic Horsemen. Many know about these four even if they don't know the book of Revelation. Revelation 6:1-8 says: 1Now I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals; and I heard one of the four living creatures saying with a voice like thunder, “Come and see.” 2And I looked, and behold, a white horse. He who sat on it had a bow; and a crown was given to him, a...

Moving right along in Revelation to finish off Chapter 5. We are now looking at verses 8-14. Here it is: 8Now when He had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each having a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. 9And they sang a new song, saying: “You are worthy to take the scroll, And to open its seals; For You were slain, And have redeemed us to God by Your blood Out of every tribe an...
