I'm sorry if it seems as tho I'm harping here, but it's really bothersome to me to see this stuff happening to our kids. Here's the latest news I received today from Citizen Link. FOX News cameras are rolling as a 20-year-old student undergoes an abortion, as part of a documentary titled "Facing Reality, Choice," that will air at 9 p.m. ET Saturday on FOX News. The woman cries through the abortion and her mother, beside her for emotional support, learns this is her daughter's second...
I guess this is just one of those headline news stories that just makes one want to bang their head against the wall. Ha! Reminds me of trying to instill logic to one of my boys when he was 14-15 after he would make some illogical comment or decision. Instead of talking to the wall, it was easier to bang one's head against it. I'm talking about the totally inappropriate decision made by the School Board over the Birth Control Issue for the middle school here. Yes, I'm still trying to ...
I should go back to writing about Revelation. We were just getting started but lately I've been feeling some oppression in my life and felt led to write about Satan. I'm starting to wonder if it doesn't have something to do with this Revelation series. Maybe this break is needed to expose him and his ways. I write this and dedicate it to Ruby! I'm familiar with this feeling. I've felt it before, but it's been quite a while. It's a feeling of dread, darkness and joylessness. He can...
We know that Satan is a liar and murderer from the beginning. We only have to read the first three chapters of Genesis to see his lying murderous ways. His motive is murder and his method is lying. His chief tool to destroy is deception. He's a master liar; very subtle. He makes the lie sound so much like the truth. When he wants to destroy someone, he begins by deceiving them. He lies to get his work done. He wants nothing better than to change your thought processes to deceive a...
Whenever I find myself at a pity party for one, I try to focus on someone who has it alot worse than I. A friend of mine recently confided in me that she found herself at that same party one day when Joni E. Tada came on the radio. Joni has been paralyzed from the neck down since the 1970's when she was 17. Her joy and peace about her condition and life itself is very contagious. Her love for God and others is supernatural and awesome. When my friend heard her sweet voice on the radio d...
Did anyone watch 20/20 tonight? A portion of it was on Global Warming. Now what? How much more can they say about this? It was on the "Gimme a Break" section of the show by John Stossel. He's usually pretty common sense so I watched. FIrst he showed the ads that are nothing but scare tactics and then onto the school children, also scared from watching these ads and listening to their parents reaction watching these ads. Then onto Hollywood with Gore sharing his award with the ...
Terrorism is a much talked about topic of our day thanks especially to what happened on 9/11. Is there a way of taking Terror out of Terrorism for the ordinary person? I think so. If an enemy can make you fear him, he's won. We shouldn't cooperate with terrorists no matter the level whether it be politically, socially or physically including the bully on the playground. God did not give us the spirit of fear. Fear does not come from God. While God gives us fear, he doesn't giv...
Well it was bound to happen. The kids are getting younger and younger now when it comes to experimenting with sex. Whatever happened to the days when the boys had cooties? Or the dances where the girls stood on one side of the room and the boys on the other not daring to even dance with the opposite sex? Here's the latest in my neck of the woods which made the 6 o'clock news. Actually it's on the news right now as I'm typing this. A middle school in our area may soon be offering bi...
“A merry heart maketh a cheerful countenance.” Proverbs 15:13 When you get dressed in the morning do you remember to wear a smile for the first person you see? I confess I don't always. I'm usually a grump in the morning. I'm slow moving in the morning needing extra time to get myself together. I've been known even to shower and put on my running outfit the night before so I can jump out of bed ready to go to a very early am race. This helps me tremendously in getting out of the hou...
Ok, more weird news in today's headlines. I just can't believe this. "Mom and Dad" as well as "husband and wife" have been banned from California schools under a bill signed by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger From what I understand these, terms could promote discrimination against homosexuals and we need to be inclusive and not be so insensitive. He also ordered public schools to allow boys to use girls restrooms and locker rooms, and vice versa, if they so choose. . Really? So mo...
Much is being talked about these days regarding public schools vs. private schools. Is one better than another? Are private schools a better choice for your child today? Is homeschooling where it's at now? I've gone on to say that if I had to do it over I'd homeschool in a heartbeat. I probably would if I were starting out today, because there is so much out there available to parents who make this choice now. When my children were starting kindergarten in the late 80's and early...
Jesus was a storyteller of the finest kind. His parables always had a point to them. He didn't tell a story for the sake of entertaining but for teaching a truth that needed to be taught. He used everyday common things to get his point across to us. Recently I brought up the following parable in a discussion and came across this same parable today in my daily devo sent to me by HC, another JUser, and very good friend. Thought I'd share after HC shared with me. From Henry Blackaby An...
With a year left to think about the presidential election, I'm at this point zeroing in on Huckabee. Actually I think I've pretty much decided. I think President Huckabee has a nice ring to it. My number one criteria for President is integrity and he qualifies. He was the candidate who won hands down the Values Voter Presidential Debate in September. So many others feel the same about his fine character. He's a pro-family, pro-marriage, pro-borders, less government, strongly against ...
I guess mom knows now that her daughter is a lesbian and it didn't go over very well. So the school got sued. Two girls were caught kissing in California's Santiago High School, and like all kissing infractions parents were notified. The administration was just following the rules like they always do, but this time they were sued. Why? Because one girl was now "outed" to her mother. The American Civil Liberties Union and the Gay Straight Alliance Network brought the federal su...
So I found out today I have a gum boil. Do you know what that is? I didn't. But I do now. Sort of. About two weeks ago I noticed what felt like a canker or irritation on the left side of my mouth along the tooth line next to a tooth I had work done on two years ago. I broke the tooth, a molar, and had an overlay done at that time. This gum boil is like a small soft blister like lump. When I pressed down on it I was surprised at how much blood issued out of it. Hmmmm I was s...
