Summer Vacation Time

I'm heading out again.

Tomorrow we leave for VA and then onto FL.

We are going to help drive David and gear down for his last year of college. We'll hang around a bit with him. I'd like to run on the new indoor track again. We'll probably hit our favorite running place, Blackwater Trail in Lynchburg.

We plan on meeting friends down there and going to Falwell's church which is always a highlight for us. Then on Monday of next week, we'll fly to Orlando, pick up a rental and head for The Villages. We have a friend who is letting us stay in her new Villa for the week. We'll putz around FL. I want to go to Holy Land down there in Orlando. Been there once and loved it. I've got my bathing suit and running gear all packed. Not sure if I can bear the heat in FL enough to run but I'll try.

I've got some big news to write, but don't dare to right now. It'll have to wait until I get back. When I do share, you'll understand why I waited.

When we get back we have two days to get ready for the daughter in law and grandbaby. I've been getting their room ready. David had taken up residence all summer in Bobby's old room making himself a nice little office.

I've collected all the baby gear I can think of. I got the high chair, the car seat, the stroller and porta crib. I bought the diapers and just had to buy a small football for him to kick around. I even put a rocking chair in the bedroom in case he wakes up and mom needs to rock him back to sleep.

I may check in from time to time since we'll have computer access in Lynchburg. We'll see.

In the meantime, I hope everyone enjoys the last bit of summer as we speed towards fall. When I get back, x-country will be in full gear and I'll be running with the teens yet again.....if I ever get my contract. Still waiting for it.

Maybe I'll see you on the road!! I'll beep when I go past.

If you're going down 93, be sure to pick up 95 in MA. Would hate for you to get stuck in Boston traffic, blech. And 295 is usually better traffic-wise in RI. After that, you're all set through CT and after that I don't know where to go.

See you when you get back!

I'll tell my crew to be on the lookout for you!

Have a great time.

Jythier,

Thanks for the directions but from past experiences, ours and many others, we stay off 95. We end up taking 84 to 81 and skip all the headaches. Last time my son took 95 (we told him not to) it took him almost 19 hours to get home. He was stuck, as in not moving more than once. We flew down here, as always taking about 13 hours to get here.

Dr. Guy:

We are having a great time....but it's hotter than hades down here. Blasting hot that is. We ran in 99 degree weather yesterday...hot and humid...and this was at 5:30-6:30 pm.

We just returned from Mississippi.  Whew, its HOT there.  We decided to opt out of the part of our vacation which included Ft Walton Beach.  Too hot.  The last thing I want to do is sit on hot sand, in the hot sun.  (I don't tan on purpose...always wear sun screen...don't wanna get skin cancer.)

Hope you have fun!
