Now, I think I've heard just about everything. Did you know there's a law still on the NH books that says: On Sundays citizens may not relieve themselves while looking up. I guess it's irreverant to do so. How in the world do they enforce this one....especially since there's no outhouses anymore to peek into? Did the elders or deacons enforce this back then by watching carefully so this didn't happen? What about the other days of the week? It was ok then? You can check your...

All this talk about widsom teeth around here got me to thinking about why they call them wisdom teeth. Not sure but it surely can't be because you get them around your 18th birthday. I know very few "wise" teenagers. I remember when I was younger and reading about King Solomon and how God asked him what he wanted for his Kingdom and he asked for Wisdom. It seemed a very good request, in the will of God, so it was granted to him. So I too asked for that same request. I thought if it...

I'm going under the knife tomorrow. Yep. Gotta take care of that wisdom tooth. Not liking this one bit. The day before is not a good day. The surgeon, who is a very sweet guy and friend has told me that I will hate him for a few days. I doubt that but did admit I'm not wanting to visit him much. When he put the x-ray up I could see it's not in a very good place. He told me I'd have stitches, swelling and pain. He said it wasn't the worst he's seen. Like that gave me some relief....

A nice JU friend sent me this today. What a riot. An cinnamon orange biscuit sounds good right about now. In memory of. . . Please join me in remembering a great icon of the entertainment community. The Pillsbury Doughboy died yesterday of a yeast infection and trauma complications from repeated pokes in the belly. He was 71. Doughboy was buried in a lightly greased coffin. Dozens of celebrities turned out to pay...

Given to me by one of my friends who got it thru one of those mail solicitations. TOP TEN INDICATIONS YOU ARE NOT READING YOUR BIBLE ENOUGH 1. You think that JOB rhymes with BOB 2. You fall for it when the preacher tels you to turn to 2 Hezekiah 3. You think the minor prophets worked in the quarries. 4. Catching the kids reading the Song of Solomon, you demand: "Who gave you this?" 5. You get mad because you can't find Charlton Heston in the concordance nor in the ta...

Well I guess it's coming to the nearest theater towards you. It's only a matter of time. Oh at first everyone will make a ruckus. Going by our current trends that won't last long. Bit by bit, step by step we'll be desensitized to it like everything else and it will be put alongside homosexuality as a "normal" alternative to what used to be accepted as sacred rite between a man and a woman. We continue to pick up speed as we rush down the slippery slope unable to stop until we've reach...

What a great day today was. It was almost perfect weather wise, a bit cool but very sunny and breezy. I finally got to hang out some laundry after days of rainy weather. The grass is really high after all this rain and needs a mowing badly. David promised he'd do it tomorrow. After planting flowers in my barrels and flower beds I went for a run down to the track. There I met David who left ahead of me. He took the car so I could drive back with him. He wanted to run about 12 miles ...

I heard a sermon today by John McArthur that held the audience spellbound. There was not a sound to be heard as he preached a most sobering sermon about America and God's wrath against it. He is one of the most respected and sought after speakers and theologians today and one that I admire as well. He says it straight, and I like that. He's not afraid to stand up and speak the truth, and his wisdom, I believe, is God given as he loves and preaches nothing other than the word of God. Any...

Another busy weekend gone by. I was so tired today, I took a three hour nap. Boy did that feel good. It's rainy and cool so I just got my favorite quilt and zonked out bigtime. So now with husband and son in bed I'm here watching my favorite late Sunday night service and I'm not even close to hitting the hay as it gets close to the midnight call. We got a special invite to visit with and question Barack Obama this past week since he was in our neighborhood. We didn't go, but I guess...

My husband just returned from Poland. While over there he really could see major differences in the way of life between there and home. He saw the poverty, the crazy drivers and nothing in English. Very few are able to speak English and translators were needed for my husband as he went over to speak at quite a few places. They loved hearing his language and kept insisting he speak to say something during his quiet times. They are a people with no luxuries. He even brought them toilet p...

We now move along the postal route to the third Church of seven having already moved past Ephesus and Smyrna. This church is called Pergamos or Pergamum. We start reading the letter to this church from Revelation 2:12-17 12“And to the angel of the church in Pergamos write, ‘These things says He who has the sharp two-edged sword: 13“I know your works, and where you dwell, where Satan’s throne is. And you hold fast to My name, and did not deny My faith even in the days in which Antipas...

First Rosie, then Don and now Bill. What is it with these guys? Rosie's ugliness and hatred is well known. She's just plain mean. Heck we've been able to see it all on tape everyday. Every single hateful remark and look is all recorded. How stupid is that? By now everyone also knows all about Don Imus and his rude remarks earning him a shiny new pink slip and a chance to sue his employers. How many know that Bill Maher is now in hot water with the Catholics? They are blasting h...

Well it seems as though I'm not the only one leery about the World Wide Web. I got an Israeli update today that I thought I'd share with you all. It seems as though the Jews of the Orthodox persuasion are sending out an alert against the internet. This is pretty interesting to see the Jews get on board along with mostly Conservative Fundamental Christian thought about the net. Although I have yet to see any Christian prohibition against the net at this time. I can't see it happeni...

David's on his way home. He left this morning at 10:15 from VA. He went to TRBC first. This is the first service, of course, since Jerry died. His son, Jonathan did well keeping it together as he delivered the message. I guess he did falter some, but David said he did well. He kept it shorter than usual David thought. It seemed heavier on the music. He's bringing me home lots of newspapers from the area. We get no news here regarding this and I'm not that hooked up as far as ...
