He came to pay a debt He didn't owe because we owed a debt we couldn't pay. That's what Christmas is all about for me. I thank God for that little baby that was unlike any other. I wish those who feel the same a very MERRY CHRIST-MAS and for everybody else.....Happy Holidays and may you all have a very blessed New Year.

Ok, just read this in today's paper and just had to share. It's an AP coming out of Washington, and we know that all things that come out of Washington are drop dead true....LOL. A poll was taken of 1,000 adults on Dec 12-14 and this is what they've come up with. -86% believed in Santa as a child. -More than 60% of those with children at home consider Santa important in their holiday celebrations now. That's an approval rating President Bush and most in Congress could only d...

Did anyone watch Larry King the other night with James Dobson, Founder of Focus on the Family as his guest? Well I guess James gave his buddy Larry a history lesson on the separation of church and state. I was kind of surprised at what Larry didn't know mostly because he should have done his HW by this time. This issue has been going on now for quite some time now. The courts are clogged with all sorts of cases surrounding the separation of church and state debacle. How many people d...

There's a big story in our neck of the woods here that you may have heard about. I know Doc has blogged on this. I'm not sure how widespread this is but it's big news here. It's a story about a bizarre kidnapping of a 19 year old woman by her parents. The more that comes out the more incredible it gets. The parents were arrested and are now free on bail for trying to force their college age daughter to get an abortion. They were on their way to NY to force her to abort when the daug...

Israel. They are forever it seems the center of the news. Israel is the center of biblical history and prophecy and as we can see quite clearly, current events. I believe there is a reason for this. Our Pastor asked a question on Sunday. How can we show that God's word is true? Many answers could be heard from the congregation but not the one he wanted. The answer? Israel. He said Israel's survival is the best testimony of the word of God. From the beginning of the OT history ...

This Song was written in 1861 by Julia Howe and has been one of my all time favorite songs especially during the Patriotic holidays such as Juy 4th. I actually like this better than the Star Spangled Banner. I remember singing this song every week in grade school and didn't know at the time it had reference to the second coming of Jesus. Now when I hear it, I picture the words spoken in Revelation. There is a time coming time when he returns many will be singing, Glory, Glory Hallelu...

I'm kind of surprised the writers here at JU haven't mentioned what's going on in Iran with the finding of the Ark. It's all over the "Other" blog sites almost an hourly account from what I saw. One account read "Texas Finds the Ark." Good Morning America had a piece on this yesterday and they seemed very excited about this news. I'm not surprised and always felt that they would find this ark eventually. I always put the finding of it with "last days" timing because it's just like...

The story of a man who was laughed at for building a huge boat in the middle of the desert 4,500 years ago continues to be a hot topic among scholars all over the world. The National Geographic Society's search for a wooden boat expert and visuals of wooden boat consruction is bringing them to Boothbay Harbor (Maine) Shipyard early next week as part of production for a television program tentatively titled "Mysteries of the Bible: Noah's Flood." For a segment on Noah's ark, National G...

Since January is known as Sanctity of Life Month I thought I'd share a real life struggle with the abortion issue with you. While much has been blogged here on JU on the abortion issue, it's much more personal when you hear the struggle in action. A Transformation from Pro-Abortion to Pro-Life by Wendy Cloyd, assistant editor God has a way of showing even the hard-hearted why protecting life in the womb shows respect for all of life. I'm not exactly sure when I reali...

What I Learned from Democrats at the Alito Hearings by Bruce Hausknecht, judicial analyst A more-or-less lighthearted lexicon of the language used by the Senate Judiciary Committee. I have to admit that I learned a lot about the Senate confirmation process and the role of judges in our society by listening to the combined wisdom of the eight Democrats on the Judiciary Committee this past week. It's not right that I keep this newfound knowledge to myself, so I hereby share it with yo...

Well it's here. Tax time. At least for me and countless others that make their living doing what the government requires.......paying up!!! And pay up we do. Yep, death and taxes....a sure thing. Imagine not having this to look forward to?. We'd be alive forever and rich!! Can't have that. Who'd pay the undertaker and the IRS.?......... not to mention I'd be out of a job. I have been working in a CPA office since 1990 when my youngest went to kindergarten.. It's a business ...

I'm on a "Merry Christmas" mission and I'm in full throttle. My little yellow VW Beetle has turned into a Christmas billboard with Merry Christmas written across the back window. Yes, I've decided to trek off to work everyday on the public highways with a message that seems to offend people. At stop lights, I even turn my music up a little louder, and to top it off, I sing along with it. Don't I know that stopping at a red light to roll my windows down only to share the joy of Christma...
