I saw this news clip today and couldn't believe how small this seemed. I mean, com'on doesn't anyone remember the story of how the Aids virus first tainted the blood supply back in the what...... 70's? Do we want to go thru that again? Do we let our blood supply diminish for fear of making a homosexual feel bad? What about the heteros who wish to donate from the confines of their university? Are they chopped liver? How far is this going to go? Lives could be at stake. San Jose...

I just received this notice from a missionary friend. I have another friend in Bulgaria and she's running into the same issues. She's absolutely freezing over there right now. Is this what we have to look forward to? This is scary as we watch the prices continue to rise. Sunday, January 13, 2008 Tajikistan: Energy Shortages, Extreme Cold Create Crisis Situation By Farangis Najibullah A crippling shortage of energy, combined with severe weather conditions, have left many pe...

I'm freezing in Florida!!! What the heck? I moved here thinking all was going to be warm and cozy and it's cooooold here right now. It's still the Sunshine State but with a bitter kick to the Sunshine right now. We dug out the winter gear yesterday for the first time and today is even colder. I heard there may be some spitting snow on the coast.......of Florida? We saw this coming for days as they warned us of the freeze to come saying it would be the coldest weather in the last fi...

Christmas is here. Well almost. After a busy day hanging out with the boys who are here to celebrate Christmas with us we left for Christmas Eve Service. Three days ago I was asked to play the part of Mary and my husband the part of Joseph. It wasn't anything big deal, basically just readings during the Christmas program. It was to be fairly simple filled with mostly lit candles and plenty of music. I guess I was chosen to be Mary because I am the youngest in the congregation. H...

I'm shaking my head over this one. Where are we heading anyhow? How slippery is this slope? How much sense does this make? Everything nowadays seems to fall under discrimination doesn't it? Isn't this just another "all about me" moment? Another news story from Focus and I'm looking at the operative words here......"she" and "men's locker rooms." A student is accusing Massachusetts' Northern Essex Community College of discrimination for not allowing her to use the men’s locke...

Here's a news story today from Focus on the Family. We had similar experiences in our HS but didn't go the suit route. I'm not so sure from a Christian POV that's something we should be doing but I can totally understand the frustration. I think most Christians feel as we do. It's not like we haven't been warned. Otherwise the courts would be very crowded with cases such as this. A San Juan Capistrano, Calif., high school student and his parents filed a federal lawsuit this week...

I'll shut up and let these guys do the singing. They can say it better than I can anyway. Link

I'm sorry if it seems as tho I'm harping here, but it's really bothersome to me to see this stuff happening to our kids. Here's the latest news I received today from Citizen Link. FOX News cameras are rolling as a 20-year-old student undergoes an abortion, as part of a documentary titled "Facing Reality, Choice," that will air at 9 p.m. ET Saturday on FOX News. The woman cries through the abortion and her mother, beside her for emotional support, learns this is her daughter's second...

I guess this is just one of those headline news stories that just makes one want to bang their head against the wall. Ha! Reminds me of trying to instill logic to one of my boys when he was 14-15 after he would make some illogical comment or decision. Instead of talking to the wall, it was easier to bang one's head against it. I'm talking about the totally inappropriate decision made by the School Board over the Birth Control Issue for the middle school here. Yes, I'm still trying to ...

Well it was bound to happen. The kids are getting younger and younger now when it comes to experimenting with sex. Whatever happened to the days when the boys had cooties? Or the dances where the girls stood on one side of the room and the boys on the other not daring to even dance with the opposite sex? Here's the latest in my neck of the woods which made the 6 o'clock news. Actually it's on the news right now as I'm typing this. A middle school in our area may soon be offering bi...

Ok, more weird news in today's headlines. I just can't believe this. "Mom and Dad" as well as "husband and wife" have been banned from California schools under a bill signed by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger From what I understand these, terms could promote discrimination against homosexuals and we need to be inclusive and not be so insensitive. He also ordered public schools to allow boys to use girls restrooms and locker rooms, and vice versa, if they so choose. . Really? So mo...

I guess mom knows now that her daughter is a lesbian and it didn't go over very well. So the school got sued. Two girls were caught kissing in California's Santiago High School, and like all kissing infractions parents were notified. The administration was just following the rules like they always do, but this time they were sued. Why? Because one girl was now "outed" to her mother. The American Civil Liberties Union and the Gay Straight Alliance Network brought the federal su...

My boys love to tease each other. They can be merciless sometimes looking for creative ways to make fun of each other. Of couse this is all done in fun. They are so darn competitive in every area of life this ribbing is no exception as they try to find ways to outdo the other. Recently the middle son went on a mission to New Mexico for the AF to work on a project. Since my eldest wasn't quite sure what his younger brother was doing exactly he has now speculated on the real reason for...

This world is getting crazier by the minute. What will they think of next....hmmmmm? The latest craziness is the fact that playground tag is now being banned in an elementary school in Colorado. Why you might ask? I thought at first maybe somebody was being pushed or shoved. Nope. That wasn't it. The reason (and I'm not making this up) is there is too much conflict on the playground. Kids were starting to complain about being harassed. Harassed? How in the world can one be...

I don't even have to ask people out there how they'd feel if the government decided to fund Christian Public Schools. Time and time again we've seen the threat of loss of funds if a particular college doesn't wipe from their campus every trace of what would be considered a Christian idea or program. I've already mentioned here about VMI losing their right to pray at mealtimes with federally funded dollars at stake. They complied. No more prayer. Their more than 100 year tradition wa...
