This Song was written in 1861 by Julia Howe and has been one of my all time favorite songs especially during the Patriotic holidays such as Juy 4th. I actually like this better than the Star Spangled Banner. I remember singing this song every week in grade school and didn't know at the time it had reference to the second coming of Jesus. Now when I hear it, I picture the words spoken in Revelation. There is a time coming time when he returns many will be singing, Glory, Glory Hallelujah. Too bad they don't sing it anymore. It's a classic.

Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord;
He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored;

The truth that goes marching on is that the Star Spangled Banner is a great poem. But a lousy song!
