What a day!! It was a busy one. It started out in a rush as I hurried out of the house to pick up a friend that needed a ride from the auto repair shop. Together we went to the study that I lead on Thursday mornings. After that was over and a few errands were had, I went to the scrapbook club and scrapped for a few hours. I have been working on my son Brian's scrapbook since about February of this year and am finally getting to his first grade year. I've really got to get on the ball ...

What a numbskull I am!! I can't believe I did what I did today. I was preparing a lesson for a ladies get together tonight. It was going to be a great evening. We were having a homecooked turkey dinner at our precious friend's home ending with my doing a lesson after the dinner. We were expecting dinner for 30. The lesson was on 10 Essentials for Building a Strong Foundation. It was to be both spiritual and physical. For every spiritual truth I had picked out a carpenter's tool ...

I've been on the phone for two weeks trying to help a young 22 year old girl get away from her parents. Now that sounds strange I know but the whole thing was quite bizarre. It shouldn't be like this. It all started when she decided she wanted to move 7 hours away to live in the vicinity of her boyfriend. They had been separated for more than a year while he went to school in another state. He had already offered to help her find roommates and a job before she even got there. They we...

A friend sent me this tonight......thought it was good. Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you, Jesus Christ and the American G.I. One died for your soul; the other for your freedom.

I can't sleep, had too many diet cokes tonight and i'm wired. I'm actually quite tired but evidentlly not tired enough. Lots going on here so that definitely is a contributing factor as well. David leaves for college tomorrow which is really today now. He is driving 15 hours and being a Mom I will be anxious to hear from him making it safely on the other end. Tonight was his last night at Applebees and he's the one responsible for the soda. We decided to go in for dinner his las...

I don't know but I think I may have had a flashback tonight. I went running late at the end of the day sometime after 7:00. There was a slight rain and with warm temps I decided what the heck? I might as well. Once wet it doesn't matter to the rest of the run. So I went. After running in the blistering heat the last few days, the sunless sky and warm rain was refreshing and it didn't take long for me to know that this would be a good run. I decided that it would be dark soon s...

Have you ever done something really stupid? I mean so stupid you even immediately say to yourself..."that was really stupid?" I do once in a while and that once in a while happened on Friday. It kind of smacks of the same stupidity of nailing that piece of wood to my dining table while I was practicing using a hammer and nail. Now that was stupid and I say so everytime I look at the hole in my table. Anyhow on Friday we had no electricity as a storm whipped thru our area. As a resu...

There are just not enough hours in the day. So much to do, so little time to do it all. I would love to have a 48 hour day. Hmmmm I wonder about the logistics of that tho. But the days just seem to fly by. The older I get the faster they go. Today I got up early to help an elderly lady clean her home. Every Spring a bunch of us gals get together and plan a house cleaning for someone, usually an elderly lady, who has trouble getting around. Last year we did for Polly. While Polly...

Ok, I'm not making a big deal out of this, but I hung out clothes for the first time since last fall!!! I know, I know....little things. But I really enjoy hanging out clothes on the line vs drying them in the dryer. I already devoted a whole blog to this last Spring so if you want details, you can go back in time..........heh. Today was a beautiful sunny day. Cool, but nice. There's still snow on the ground but enough patches of grass (still soggy) for me to maneuver over to...

I'm looking to get out of here, even for just a few days. It's mud season in full swing and it's not pretty around these parts. The grass is peeping from under the snow in spots which is a great thing to see after a long winter. The mud I could do without. In our neck of the woods we have five seasons. Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter and Mud Season. This past week we had a few friends come over including the guy who just put in my new laminate flooring. Each one without exception got ...

It's definitely tax time. We are now officially in zombie time. We're always looking for fun ways to get thru the time and today we had a bit of fun. I may have a new job. A bill collector. I guess the guys at work think I'm pretty good at it. Every once in a while we get no pays or those that take their return and then take forever in paying our bill. At our office we give the option of clients picking up their returns and sending their money in later. For some, that means when ...

We've hemmed and hawed for weeks finally deciding on which laminate we would choose for our living room and one bedroom. We placed our order and today was the day. Or so we thought. We were told at the placement of the order that we must be available on the delivery day. We were responsible for unloading the truck ourselves. If we were not home, the driver would not leave the materials but would just leave. We got a call yesterday that they would be here tomorrow which is today but...

Today was a good day. It was finally warm.....it must have been in the high 40's today at least. That's warm. My run, although muddy felt great. There are good running days and it's-so-bad-I-think-I'm-going-to-pick-up-another-sport-kinda-day. This was a....I-think-I'll-run-that-4th-of-July-race-this-year-kinda-day. My son made his Spring Break destination safely. With 5 College kids in one car traveling 14-15 hours I was a bit worried but all is well that ends well right? He e...

It's absolutely freezing here. Well it's actually well below freezing here. Currently it's five degrees. I just started getting myself back on track with the running and then this comes in. It makes it so much harder to get out. Sure, I've got the treadmill, but I hate running on it. It's a last resort for me. Blah! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Speaking of running. I f...

Evil. Even the word is ominous. What comes to mind when you think of that word evil? Jeffrey Dalmer? Eric Rudolph? Your mother in law? Hillary? (no last name needed) or how about that weird guy jumping over all the cars way back when? How about your boss or co-worker who just waits for you to screw up every day? Some describe evil as their kids out to get them. That thought usually passes after the teen years. How about the Muslim Terrorists? Do they qualify or are they ju...
