Continuing on where we left off we now come to Revelation 7:9-17 which says: 9After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands, 10and crying out with a loud voice, saying, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!” 11All the angels stood around the throne and the elders ...

Got this story from a friend and thought it was quite thought provoking. Does evil exist or is it better stated that evil is just the absence of something good? Let me explain the problem science has with religion." The atheist professor of philosophy pauses before his class and then asks one of his new students to stand. "You're a Christian, aren't you, son?" "Yes sir," the student says. "So you believe in God?" "Absolutely." "Is God good?" "Sure! God's good." ...

Continuing on with the Apocalypse we come to Chapter 7 and will read verses 1-8. We read this: 1After these things I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, on the sea, or on any tree. 2Then I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God. And he cried with a loud voice to the four angels to whom it was granted to harm the earth and the sea, 3saying, “Do not ...

We've already covered the first five seals opened by the Lamb of God and now we're about to read of the opening of the sixth seal which is to be the most frightening yet. Opening up this seal is like the first act of an end time play revealing a very disturbing scene with more to come. First the text: 12I looked when He opened the sixth seal, and behold, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became like blood. 13And the stars of hea...

Moving right along in Revelation 6 as we read about the 5th seal, we look at v9-11 to read: 9When He opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain for the word of God and for the testimony which they held. 10And they cried with a loud voice, saying, “How long, O Lord, holy and true, until You judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?” 11Then a white robe was given to each of them; and it was said to them that they should rest a littl...

I got behind so I'm cranking now. We are going to look at the breaking of the seals and the first thing we see are the four Apocalyptic Horsemen. Many know about these four even if they don't know the book of Revelation. Revelation 6:1-8 says: 1Now I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals; and I heard one of the four living creatures saying with a voice like thunder, “Come and see.” 2And I looked, and behold, a white horse. He who sat on it had a bow; and a crown was given to him, a...

Moving right along in Revelation to finish off Chapter 5. We are now looking at verses 8-14. Here it is: 8Now when He had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each having a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. 9And they sang a new song, saying: “You are worthy to take the scroll, And to open its seals; For You were slain, And have redeemed us to God by Your blood Out of every tribe an...

Now we're back on track starting with Revelation Chapter 5. Here's the text for 1-7: 1And I saw in the right hand of Him who sat on the throne a scroll written inside and on the back, sealed with seven seals. 2Then I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, “Who is worthy to open the scroll and to loose its seals?” 3And no one in heaven or on the earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll, or to look at it. 4So I wept much, because no one was found worthy to open and r...

It's been a while since I blogged on Revelation, and I went ahead a bit but now I want to go back and do that last church we skipped over. This church is called Laodicea and is well known for its lukewarm temperature. This is the seventh church in the series of seven along the postal route of Asia Minor. Here's the text from Revelation 3. 14“And to the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write, ‘These things says the Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Beginning of the creat...

John is about to take us on a trip to heaven. He's going to show us what we will see when we first get there.. We can only imagine what this must have been like for John. Since we cover almost all of Chapter 4 here, we need to get right into the text: 2 Immediately I was in the Spirit; and behold, a throne set in heaven, and One sat on the throne. 3And He who sat there was like a jasper and a sardius stone in appearance; and there was a rainbow around the throne, in appearance like a...

Tonight I had a great run. I ran seven miles and it felt good. When I run, I take the opportunity of complete solitude to pray. So running seven miles means I have more opportunity to pray for more people than if I went on a four mile run. I believe Prayer transform lives. I've seen so many amazing answers to prayer in my life already. If I were a better writer, I'd put it all down in a book someday. The power of Prayer is very underestimated even by the most faithful church g...

I'm going to jump ahead just for a bit and skip over the last church. I will come back to it, hopefully shortly but am going to jump ahead to 4:1. Yes, only one verse. There's alot here to discuss just in this one verse. It concerns the Rapture. Here's the verse: " After this I looked and behold, a door was open in heaven: and the first voice which I head was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, "Come up hither; and I will show you things which must be hereafter." ...

In my studies I came across some interesting quotes, some I was familiar, some not. Since I'm studying the Doctrine of the Bible right now, these well known quotes were centered around this subject matter. Considering that people of today think one must check their brains at the door to believe the "book" I wonder what they would say if they saw this impressive list of what I would consider very brilliant people of yesteryear. World Leaders Winston Churchill-"We rest with assura...

Now here in the message to the sixth of seven churches we find no condemnation but only commendation. It's the church of brotherly love; Philadelphia. Here's the text surrounding it. “And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write, ‘These things says He who is holy, He who is true, “He who has the key of David, He who opens and no one shuts, and shuts and no one opens”: 8“I know your works. See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it; for you have a little st...

Moving right along the road that leads to the church at Sardis which makes this #5 out of 7 churches addressed in the book of Revelation. Here's the text surrounding this letter: 1“And to the angel of the church in Sardis write, ‘These things says He who has the seven Spirits of God and the seven stars: “I know your works, that you have a name that you are alive, but you are dead. 2“Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die, for I have not found your w...
