And It Cost her a Perishible Crown
Published on April 20, 2009 By KFC Kickin For Christ In Current Events

Miss California didn't know she was about to step into a hornets' nest with her answer to a question posed to her by celebrity judge Perez Hilton at last night's Miss America Contest.  Did you hear her answer and see her beautiful face as she gave it?  Did you hear his question and feel the confrontational attitude coming from him when he gave it?  It was almost like he knew her background and was daring her to answer this question honestly and if so, to her detriment.  It looks like he made sure she paid for this "wrong" answer.

I loved the applause she got from the audience after her answer believing that most feel the same way as she.  That is, marriage should be between a man and a woman as we have all been brought up to believe.

You just knew that Hilton was very angry receiving the answer that he did not wish to hear.    She did not back down believing that every state should have the opportunity to vote one way or the other and then giving her own opinion on the matter.

I think she hit on something important.  It should be left up to the people to vote and not the state representatives who are bowing to the pressure put to them by a militant few like this Hilton character.

Showing his true colors, Perez Hilton today went on his blog site blasting out Miss California, hate and venom dripping from his lips, as he called her derogatory names.  All because she gave her opinion that did not match his own and standing up for her belief that she was raised with.

Miss California stated her opinion to the question posed to her and since it wasn't politically correct lost her bid to become the new Miss America.  Basically her answer cost her.  This is truly representative as to what is going on all across the country to those who dare speak out against these new laws allowing homosexual marriages and the baggage that comes with it.   You disagree and you will pay the price.

I'd like to say to Miss California that she did good.  She is refreshingly honest as well as amazingly beautiful inside and out and her not bowing to the social pressure of our day just to get along speaks volumes about her character.  Kudos!  She may have lost this imperishible crown but I'm just betting she's going to get another that will glitter more brightly in the age to come.

Check the link below to see how Hilton really exposed his true self.  I thought judges were supposed to be impartial?  Some judge.

Regardless, I wonder how parading around with your bikini line showing protects the sanctity of marriage.

Yeah, that's why I don't watch those things.  Seems like we're (as in humans) too obsessed with looks versus abilities.  Money and looks trump intellect and talent I guess.

but do you have an actual pertinent point?

Sadly, this is how some deflect attention away from the real issues, by denigration of the participants and dismissively claiming those participants are 'unworthy' of the issues so why bother with them.

exactly.  When they have no argument they go after the person.

sometimes but not always the case.  Look at the recognition of Susan Boyle for instance.  No looks, no money.  She opened her mouth and a beautiful sound came out that everyone recognized and appreciated.

Well from a straight male's view point...it can't hurt. Like it or not the female form is probably one of the best advertisements for marriage (in a round about way) there is. And don't worry girls it transcends good looks to include almost every woman out there. So as superficial as it might appear, something is hard coded inside most of us to cause a positive reaction. I think most of women don't give themselves near enough credit. You don't have to be a beauty queen to get a response, if you really want one. I would venture to guess more guys lost sleep over trying to get to know you better than they ever did some pageant contestant.

All the above seems much ado about nothing--after all, Miss NC is a hotter chick.

do you have an actual pertinent point?
yeah he's a douche.  ain't like it's a big secret.

so's donald trump who bought the pageant some years back to ensure himself a fresh crop of those young model types he craves.

as i already mentioned, there's no "talent" judging involved.

it already is an inappropriate venue for everything but perving.

perez is clearly perverted so it all kinda works.  why else would trump have permitted him on the broadcast?

why anyone attaches any significance to anything either hilton or the bimbo hadda say is beyond me.

Nothing to debate in the above

Nothing to debate in the above

except for the "bimbo" part.  I applaud her for standing up for her convictions when it's much easier to hem and haw like the rest of them are doing these days.

seems as if, while speaking her mind and heart, she's been revealing more of hersself in a much less intellectual sense.

pretty easy to find sources reporting a 2nd set of semi-nude pix has surfaced but i particularly like this one by l steven seiden who's identidied as "seattle spiritual living examiner" on the examiner dot com page on which this can be found.  link

"On May 4, 2009, a photo of Prejean partially nude appeared on a celebrity gossip blog.  The directors of the Miss California USA pageant are investigating Prejean for potentially violating a contract clause against prospective pageant candidates having been photographed "nude or partially nude."

On May 5 Prejean stated that she had posed for that shot as a seventeen-year-old model and that she sees no problem with it, saying that, "I am a Christian, and I am a model.  Models pose for pictures, including lingerie and swim wear photos.  Recently, photos taken of me as a teenager have been released surreptitiously to a tabloid Web site that openly mocks me for my Christian faith.  I am not perfect, and I will never claim to be.”

So, she's a evangelical Christian who is not perfect and has opinions.  Hopefully, we can all learn something from her public controversies.  May we all be tolerant of each other's beliefs, path and appearance."

dunno bout yall, but i'm more inclined to be tolerant of those who show tolerance themselves.

beyond that, where were her parents while their 17-yr-old daughter was posing topless?

one possibility is divorce court accusing each other of being gay according to the new york daily news which offers this glimpse inside their ideal opposite-sex marriage link

"Prejean's parents flung a series of homosexual allegations against one another.

In one of the documents, Prejean's father describes a confrontation he had with her mother in 1996, in which "Ms. Prejean accused me, in front of our daughter, of homosexuality."

Another excerpt quotes a court-appointed doctor who said "The mother questioned [within hearing of the girls] whether [her father] was a homosexual or had a homosexual roommate."

Court papers dated May 16, 2000, include the following statement from a court-appointed counselor: "The mother also alleges the father told the girls their stepfather was gay, that all men with mustaches are gay."

Prejean's father "acknowledges talking with the girls about the stepfather's brother being gay, not the stepfather," said the papers."

bimbo

Sadly, this is how some deflect attention away from the real issues, by denigration of the participants and dismissively claiming those participants are 'unworthy' of the issues so why bother with them.

except for the "bimbo" part.

i'm guessing those of you who were unhappy with me for having characterized this bimbo as a bimbo have never had any direct contact with "models".   models as bimbos (and vice-versa) is a perfect example of fact-based cliche in my experience and professional opinion.  professional as in i was once responsible for overseeing a 40+ person production staff, a number of whom were photographers.   one day i stopped by the studio in the early afternoon and overheard the following conversation between two of their pretty lil models:

bimbo #1: this is really great thai food!

bimbo#2: it's soo good. where does it come from?

bimbo#1: i dunno...maybe japan?

another day i was approached by a model who'd been discussing this guy she'd met the previous night with some of my editors who then suggested she ask me the same question she'd just asked them:  did i know anything about "a guy named bob dylan?  he's supposed to be famous or something."

i could seriously damage my fingers and my mood providing you with more testimony but hopefully you get my drift.

i may not be all that intuitive but i'm fairly adept at identifying bimbos.  believe me, this bimbo keeps getting press coverage and pretty soon you will too.

Wow! And I thought most liberals were all about breaking down stereotypical characterizations. I for one do not know her well enough or nor have I seen enough of her interviews to toss her into such a broad group, disparaging or not.

Wow! And I thought most liberals were all about breaking down stereotypical characterizations.

Unless the stereotype is their stereotype & serves to demean those with whom they disagree.  Can't you just feel the love?  More of that change you can believe in.  I just had no idea how much more tolerance & understanding was going to be washing over us after the election of the One who will stop the ocean's rise.

on May 10, 2009

And I thought most liberals

well, there ya go with that thinking stuff again.

I for one do not know her well enough or nor have I seen enough of her interviews to toss her into such a broad group, disparaging or not.

but you do know me well enough or have read enough of my articles on this site as well as elsewhere to categorize me as a member of a broad group you consistently disparage?

for quite some time i've refrained from stereotyping as clueless, hypocrites and/or heretics  those among us who proclaim themselves conservatives while supporting sublimation of the legislative and judicial branches to an overarching executive, massive infringement of various individual rights in the name of "security", "morality" and "law & order", conspiring with dominionists to make of our secular republic a theocrasy, enthusiastically advocating preemptive military action overseas as well as employing america's military overseas to establish and defend commercial spheres of influence and endangering our economy and wellbeing by intentionally engaging in what's known as "feeding the beast".

call me whatever you want, but only after you ask yourself with which of our positions would a bob taft (huh?) or barry goldwater more likely agree?

You categorize yourself fine without anyones help, do you really believe it's me doing it?

Had you stereotyped Hilton in the same manner as the beauty queen (sure you called him a douche, but not quite the same) I wouldn't have said a thing, rant on. I just find it interesting that as long as they swing from the political left, they are spared the obvious characterizations, that appears to be reserved for the opposing team. Feel free to judge, Hilton did. I personally like folks that give an honest opinion when asked, not the PC response, whether they are born again or queer.

on May 11, 2009

as long as they swing from the political left

see, there's the problem.  hilton doesn't represent the left anymore than whatshername represents the right.

no true conservative wants government involved in such essentially private and personal matters as marriage.  furthermore, for honest-to-for-real conservatives, there can be no such thing as "social" conservativism.

on May 11, 2009

there can be no such thing as "social" conservativism.

Conservative socialism, on the other hand, is just dandy.

on May 13, 2009

Well I'd have to disagree in part, here's why: While I'm sure there are some gay conservatives out there, I have yet to see a Gay Rights group that didn't support the Obama ticket. Hilton is an outspoken supporter for gay rights, so his agenda is more in line with the left, so in an indirect way he does represent the left, in fact a large part of its core base.

As for Miss California, I am in agreement with you, she does not represent the right. Her answer was nearly identical as Obama's on the same topic. For further clarification an example: Most blacks in California voted for Obama, yet 70% voted no to prop 8. additionally the black population has a very high percentage of religious folks among their ranks? Do they, as a group, represent the right? Hardly. Since I don't know anymore about her political views than where she stands on this one issue, I'd have to say she shares the same views as the majority of her fellow Californians, who overwhelmingly supported Obama, perhaps the nations most leftist president in history. She might bleed GOP for all we know, but unless more details come to light, for her it's inconclusive. No argument that the left wing media tries to portrays her as a surrogate of the right to pacify their gay core supporters, and some conservative would probably love to have her represent the right.
