Motive Is Murder, Method is Lying
Published on October 21, 2007 By KFC Kickin For Christ In Religion
We know that Satan is a liar and murderer from the beginning. We only have to read the first three chapters of Genesis to see his lying murderous ways. His motive is murder and his method is lying. His chief tool to destroy is deception. He's a master liar; very subtle. He makes the lie sound so much like the truth.

When he wants to destroy someone, he begins by deceiving them. He lies to get his work done. He wants nothing better than to change your thought processes to deceive and destroy you.

Of course he lies about the biggest subject of all. God. He lies primarily about God. If he can put deceptions into our hearts and minds about our creator, he has us in everything else. There are three basic ways he does this.

The first thing is he wants us to do is think badly about God. He doesn't primarily go after the existence of God, although he does that too, because that's too self evident. No, he's too clever for that. He admits God but he wants us to think of God as cruel, harsh and severe. He wants our minds to be filled with negative thoughts of God. He doesn't want us to think positively of God.

In Genesis 3:1 he said to Eve: Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said to the woman, “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?

But in reality God really said back in 2:17: And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; 17“but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.”

Did you spot the lie? God never said not to eat of "every tree" did he? That was a lie. What was Satan doing here? He was trying to get Eve to think negatively about God. He wanted Eve to think of God as some cosmic killjoy. He wanted Eve to think of God badly and severely. He's saying to Eve that God is so cruel he has forbidden his creatures any legitimate joy; any pleasure.

Isn't that the same today? Isn't Satan filling heads with these same thoughts? Thoughts like serving God is painful and being a Christian is negative; something that is to be endured. That's not the idea of God. That's negativity being planted in our minds. If Satan can get you to think negatively of God, he has you.

In all reality God said, "help yourself to all the trees but one." He wanted them to understand good and evil from what God said to them about it, not what they experienced. Of course for man to have a choice, he made a choice possible. Nobody can be loyal unless he has opportunity to be disloyal. Neither can one love until he has an opportunity to dislove. This tree was a test. It wasn't a threat but a warning. God is good and the devil doesn't want you to know this.

The second thing the devil lies to us about God is this: he wants us to think skeptically about God. Look at Genesis 3:2-4. it says:

2And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden; 3“but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, ‘You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die.’ ” 4Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die.

He makes God out to be cruel now saying to her, "you can't trust this God."

God spoke and what he said to them was absolute correct truth and reliable. Modern man has all sorts of substitutes for the word of God today. Just a few of these would be....relativism, subjectivism, rationalism, pragmatism, etc.

The law without penalty is only advice. God was not giving Adam and Eve advice. He gave them truth. He told them upfront what would happen if they disobeyed his law. They would die. That was the penalty. No surprises here. Now Satan wants to undermine all this and twist and turn words to his own advantage.

The third thing Satan lies to us about is that he wants us to think suspiciously about God. Gen 3:5 says:

For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.

He's implying that God is unfair. God doesn't want you to reach your full potential. You can be independent, autonomous. Satan is telling her he's going to liberate her. A preacher I listened to said the story goes......Adam's Rib, Satan's Fib, Woman's Lib.

God said to them "don't do it." But all they had was his word, and Satan reminded them of this.

He's saying to her, "how do you know if you haven't tried it for yourself? Are you going to trust in HIS WORD? Don't you know that God has cornered the market on God? Make up your own mind, and you'll be just like God. You can be your own god."

This is the beginning of the New Age movement, Eastern Religion, Eastern Mysticism that has come to the West as ancient Hinduism. All is God and we are gods. We become gods. Panthism is rooted in Hinduism. "Pan" meaning "all," "theism" meaning God. All is in God. God is in all. God to the New Ager is energy; an impersonal force. Everything is God. God is everything.

This is so subtle. We are to be Godly, not God, but as God. God is love (correct), love is God (wrong). Sounds almost correct. Wisdom is God (wrong). God is wisdom, (correct).

This is what all the animal activists are so uptight over. The sacred cows. Everything is God, even the cows. The sky, the trees and even dirt. Now if God is dirt, then dirt is God. And if you're God.....you're dirt!!! WRONG!!!

This is rubbish. Whole generations have been brought up into this deception. Satan has almost deceived the whole world.

A man's religion will rise no higher than his concept of God. Remember Satan had lied to Eve about God blocking her potential? We read in 1 Cor 2:9:

But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”

Satan forgot to tell her about this didn't he? Why take Satan's substitute when you can have God's truth? We need not to let that devil deceive us, to destroy us, to damn us.

Jesus said Satan's a liar and a murderer. Don't think of God negatively. He loves us. The cross is a + sign not a - sign.

Don't feel sorry for me because I'm a Christian. Don't let that devil deceive you. Don't listen to him.

You know...I tried but it's so boring.

hahaha...it's anything but that. But only God can open your eyes, not me to what he has in there. It's actually fascinating.

Next time you open the book, before doing so....send up a little prayer and ask for help. I think you may get it.

Sometimes I envy that passion that some people have for religion...I just don't seem to have it.

well I don't have a passion for religion Zoo. I have a PASSION FOR CHRIST!!!

To me there's a diff. I see religion as man-made starting way back in the days of Nimrod in Babylon (chap 10-11 of Genesis) which would be another fascinating subject to cover....maybe one of these days.

Do a google search on Nimrod. Pretty interesting.

see religion as man-made

Of course it is, other animals don't have the capacity for dreaming up complex belief systems and rituals to go along with them.

Despite continuing debates about a few books by 200 AD God had led churches throughout the Empire to recognize one basic canon. While Catholics believe the CC started with Peter, the rest of us believe the CC started with Constantine in 323 AD. By then the canon was already accepted.

ZOO POSTS:
I was under the impression that the Catholic Church decided what went into the Bible for quite some time.

Your impression is correct. The Catholic Chruch did this by collecting the Jewish and Christian writings extant, and selecting from them the books and letters that form the Canon of Sacred Scripture declaring them to be writings that were inspired by God.

As you see below, KFC disagrees..this is no suprise as she has inherited protesting against things Catholic..    So, let's discuss. First, understand that Catholic Bibles have 73 Books and Protestant Bibles have 66. The distinction is in the OT. The Catholic OT has 46 Books, while the the Protestant OT has 39 of those 46 Books. Both Catholic and Protestant Bibles have 27 Books in the New Testament.

No, it wasn't the CC. The Jews had the OT all put together way before Christ in the days of Ezra. Eventually the CC did have in its possession the whole of the scipture but it wasn't "decided" by them.

All 46 Books of the Catholic OT was indeed all put together by Jerusalem Jews as far back as 200 years before Christ. It was used by the Jews of Alexandria, Asia Minor, Greece, Italy, and also by the Rabbis of Palestine at the time of the coming of Christ. Its authenticity was not questioned by the Jews until after the Messias came into His own, after He was rejected by most of them and the Christian Chruch had taken the place of the Temple. This version proved providential. It enabled the knowledge of the Old Law, its divine prophecies, and their culmination in the coming of the Messias, to be spread among the Gentiles.

On the other hand, the canon having only 39 OT books in the Protestant BIbles is of unsound historic standing for it is definitively of Jewish non-Palestinian origin having been agreed upon as the canon of the Jews during their dispersion, after the "glory had departed" from Jewry, a "glory" which was theirs when they had an Aaronic priesthood, a Temple, a Sanhedrin, sacrifices, and a reasonable hope of the coming of the Messias as He had not yet come.

The definitive act of canonization of the 39 OT Books now known as the Protestant canon is known to have taken place at the synod of Jabneh in 90AD, (20 years after the destruction of the Second Temple) at the instigation of Rabbi Akiba.

Basically, we know that all 73 Books in the Bible is God's Word because the Catholic Church said so. The Canon recognized by the CC for the past 15 centuries was specified in the Council of Lacodicea in 367AD, and was definitively adopted in the Council of Carthage in 397 AD, after being sent to the Pope for confirmation.

In the 16th century, Martin Luther greatly stirred the religious world by dubbing as apocrypha certain books that were UNQUESTIONED for twelve centuries threw out 7 OT Books. He threw the Book of Esther into the Elbe, called the Book of Judith a mere poem, Tobias a farce, and expressed regret over the 2 Books of Machabees as well as chapters 13 and 14 of Daniel. The Council of Trent deemed it expedient to declare, ex cathedra, that is by infallible authority of the Church, that the list of Books adopted at the Council of Carthage is the authoratitive, the finally determined, collection of writings composed under Divine inspiration.

For 300 years after after Christ, many manuscripts circulated that claimed to be the inspired word of God, including "gospels" attributed to Saints Peter, James, Thomas and others. The Catholic Church (which was the only Church throughout Christendom from the time of Pentecost 33AD until the 1500s and all the thousands of Protestant churches were established) ended this confusion in the 4th centuries by the assembly of Catholic bishops from all over the known world meeting at the Councils in 393 and 397 as I have already mentioned.

The Church, with Divine guidance from the Holy Ghost, then gave us the very same Bible that Catholics use today with 46 books in the Old and 27 in the New Testament. Not only did the CC decide which Books belonged in the Bible, but the Church has through the work of monks and nuns multiplied and preserved these sacred writings through the centuries, translating them into many languages.

If it were not for the Catholic Church there would be no Bible.

In order to have faith, reason must be destroyed. Because, as Jythier quoted:

"...the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned." 1 Corinthians 2:14-15

Jythier wanna cracker?

Spiritually discerned. Meaning there is a way, according to these folks, to sense something, feel something, and think something withOUT the use of the brain.

Of course, the guy that wrote that only understood brains as the stuff that seeped out of the latest heathen skull he (or his minions) had crushed in the name of what was "right" so I can forgive the ignorance.

We (folks like myself, Zoo, KB, etc...) can all go back and forth day and night using reason to suggest that Christianity, and religion in general, is a form of thought control to keep the masses in line, and that the Bible was the tool by which this would be accomplished, but any such reasoning, no matter how plausible, will dash itself on the great wall of faith. Or the great wall of denial - depending on how you look at it.

If a person asks a question - like "Why didn't God just create spirit creatures instead of dust-made ones? That way we wouldn't have any physical needs and could spend all of our time worshiping instead of scrambling around for this "food" stuff we all seem to need so much of." Then this person has been assaulted and duped by Satan. The cause is that he dared to think.

If a person notices any discrepancies in the Bible, and dares to go outside of it for answers - either to his/her own mind or to the musings of others, he has been assaulted and duped by Satan. The cause is that he dared to think.

If a person notices that the Pope's faith is most accurately described by the 3 inch thick bazooka proof glass surrounding the pope-mobile, then he has been assaulted and duped by Satan. The cause is that he dared to think.

It's quite alright, I should add, to analyze the book itself as long as your only thought is to agree with it. In fact, before you analyze it, make sure you've already decided to agree. THAT kind of thinking is okie dokey. So stop thinking folks (unless you can think "I agree" louder than any other thought you might have and do so constantly and consistently). It's the only way to escape Satan. Open your bibles, and parrot the words. Don't think about what they say. Just believe. With your spirit, not your brain. That's what God wants. For you to dismantle the one thing that makes you a human - your beautiful mind. And anytime someone comes along with that crazy reasoning thing, open up your Bible and find the appropriate weapon to disarm their thoughts. Make sure you stick together while doing so - and cheer like a child at a junior high school football game when your friends pull out a particularly disarming passage from the book of No Thought Required. It's what God wants. A planet full of parrots.

So long til mid-December, folks.

I've seen this passage written as "The unspiritual man does not receive the gifts of the spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them becasue they are spiritually discerned."

For starters what are the gifts of the Holy Spirit that some men don't want and can't use because his intelligence and will is only wise to the things in the world? They 7 gifts of the Holy Spirit are wisdom, understanding, counsel, fortitude, knowledge, piety, and the fear (love) of the Lord.

So we have two types of persons in this passage and only 2 possible ways of living on this earth..a spiritual life of grace or a natural, "animal" life. The natural one whom we've already described and the spiritual person, the one reborn by the grace of God. The gift of supernatural grace of God elevates his faculties to enable him to perform actions which have supernatural value of faith, hope and charity.

So the person who is reborn by grace is able to perceive the things of God becasue he carries with him the Holy SPirit in his soul in grace and he is in Christ, with Christ and through Christ. In other words, the spiritual person's life is has Christ's mind and Christ's attitude.

Of this passage, one of the Church Fathers, St.John Chrysostom very graphically contrasts the capacity of that of the spiritual man and that of the unspiritual man as far as understanding God's plan of salvation is concerned.

"He who has sight sees everything, including the person who has no sight; but the sightless person cannot see the things of the person who has sight. We Christians know what our own situation is; and we also know the situation of unbelievers. The unbelievers, however, do not understand ours.

Like them we know--and we know better than they do--the nature of things present; unbelievers do not know the sublimity of things to come, whereas we already see what will some day become of the world and what sinners will suffer and the righteous enjoy."

St. Thomas Aquinas has more on this as well. It's all so very, berry interesting, is it not?

Yes, but for some, it doesn't stop at thinking, but goes forward until ones finds truth. What good is thinking if it doesn't arrive at Truth?
