OK, this is sort of dumb.....but I'm just sitting here, taking a lunch break, checking my email and really enjoying my sandwich.  So I got to thinking of asking the JUsers what their favorite sandwich is.  Who knows maybe I'll come up with a new favorite. 

I'm not especially a big sandwich eater.  Usually I'll opt for soup, leftover pasta or salad for lunch but on occasion I like to have a sandwich. 

Today I'm eating a fresh tomato and cheese with mayo on whole wheat bread.  I've got to say this has to be my favorite.  Once in a while I go for th PB&J or the boring ham and cheese and I love the Subway Roasted Chicken sandwich.   But, I've got to say if I'm hankering for second's it's got to be my favorite.   I can't seem to just eat one tomato and cheese.

Fresh tuna and egg.


Or my perennial favorite - Ham, Cheese, Peanut Butter & Jelly.

egg salad, or toasted bacon and tomato sandwiches, recipe as follows:

2 slices of Wonder Bread

thick slices of tomato

at least 5 slices of bacon

lots a salt, pepper, butter and mayo!

Assemble it all and enjoy!

 

My other favorite sandwich is a Fat Sandwich: whitebread, butter, mayo, with thick cheese slices.

Are you speaking of tuna and egg together?  If so, never had that. 

I'm pretty certain you're not putting your ham and cheese with the PB&J but I oould be wrong.  My son used to eat almost everyday a PB&Cheese sandwich and I just couldn't try that combo together.

toasted bacon and tomato sandwiches,

now this sounds yummy and with a bit of lettuce you get your BLT.  Or add a slice of cheese and you can call it a BLTC.

ok, I can see why this is called a Fat sandwich.  I'm thinking you're not talking low fat butter, cheese and may here.  My thighs are getting fat just reading this.

Yep. It's how all the tuna sandwiches are made in Spain. Great combo.

Ummm . . . yeah, I am. The one slice of bread has PB and jam on it, the other slice has mayo, mustard, ham, cheese, lettuce, tomato, slap it all together and you're set!

Gross, I know, but actually quite tasty.

ok SC.  I AM going to try this one.  But I'll pass on your other concoction, not only cuz it does sound really gross (lettuce and PB?) but also because it sounds like too much work!!

When you want two sandwiches, but only have room for one - ham and cheese PB&J!

I might try the tuna-egg salad one. Is it egg salad with tuna, or tuna salad with egg? I just don't know! Or maybe it's just dry tuna and dry eggs... yuck. Mayo please!

I had an egg salad sandwich for lunch. But my favorite is a chicken parmigiana sandwich, or a Corn beef Reuben.

Tuna mixed with a bit of mayo, and sliced hard-boiled eggs.

Simple - no muss, no fuss, but delicious.

Extra sharp cheddar on 'rustic' grilled bread, sourdough or whole wheat, served with tomato soup, a dill spear, and a glob of Hellman's (real! mayo!) to dip the sandwich in.

now this one sounds good to me.  I'd take the whole wheat, maybe even stick a grilled tomato on this and ditch the soup.  And did you notice the Hellman's jar got a wee bit smaller lately?  30 oz instead of the normal 32 oz? 

And here's a weirdo for ya, corned beef hash served open faced on white bread, with melted cheese, sweet relish, and ketchup.

agree, it's weird....lol.  I've actually never had corned beef hash.  It doesn't sound good to me (looks like dog food) and I'm not one for the white bread so I think I'd pass on this one.

It is Knockwurst and pastrimi with Sauer Kraut and spicy mustard on Rye. It is what Rye is made for! (knockwurst is a german sausage - very good on its own too).

Roy, I haven't had Ovaltine in a long time. You made me thirsty for some. Ovaltine always reminds me of Ralphie from "A Christmas Story".

SC, is that way the Spain way? I asked because that's the way my mother always made her tuna. Sometimes she would add a hint of relish. MMmm I loved them.

Far as I know. It's how every tuna sandwich I've had here is.
