Still happening

We've all gone through many milestones in our lives Most of them I think we barely notice or take a second thought. Some are pretty important, and we think often of those times or events that have brought either cheers or jeers to our hearts and minds. Today I was thinking of the firsts in my life. Maybe you can think of some that I've missed.

First steps
First day of school
First sibling
First best friend
First time away from home
First Car
First Date
First Kiss
First real love
First Drink
First job
First marriage
First Home
First Child

and just to show we are never too old to keep having those "firsts" I want to add one more........

FIRST GRANDCHILD!!

So?  When?  And congratulations!

You are right, these are all milestones in most people's lives. It's probably because of my background and experience, but when I reflect back on firsts, I can't help but include...

~First Jump
~First White Water Swim
~First Time in a new country
~First Time in a new state
~First day in a new school
~First IV stick
~First Car Accident
~First time giving a new emergency med
~First birth
~First death
~First death of a child
~First life saved
~First fire
~First time you wake up and realize all those firsts are over, and it's time to make plans for a new set of firsts....

first grandchild??
aly better not be pregnant... jkjk.

Wow P.T. you had some pretty harrowing times there. First life saved can't be beat. What a great thrill that must have been to be used of God in such a high call as that. That's awesome. I've taken life saving courses because of my coaching but have never (thank God) had to use any of it.

So? When? And congratulations!

some time in November and thanks!!! I put in for a girl.

first grandchild??

yup, just goes to show, you can still have firsts even at my age. Maybe I'll jump out of a plane next, I've never done that but it looks like it would be a blast but maybe I should wait until after the birth of this grandchild just in case my chute doesn't open........

Congrats, BUT...did someone have an uh-oh?

As far as I know, you only have one married son, and I don't think he was married back in February.

I ditto that Congratulations and the question. I mean if you're just NOW finding out...it means they had to finally tell the family because she's halfway through her pregnancy already, right?

All that aside...A sincere Congratulations! And go for the skydiving. Anyone would love to brag about having a grandma who jumps out of planes!

??

KFC, are you intentionally avoiding this thread? Surely you want to "update" us?
on Jul 25, 2006
I'll update you:

My husband and I are SO excited about this new life God has blessed us with. We should be finding out the sex in a few days, and by then KFC will have to update you b/c we probably won't have internet yet as we'll be in the midst of a move. The most exciting thing happened yesterday; my grandmother mailed us a bassinet that she handmade when she was pregnant with her first son. It's so beautiful, constructed from a basket that belonged to my great-great grandmother! It has been so amazing to see our two families come together over the past several years, I feel very blessed to belong to such a loving family, as this child surely will be too.

There ya go TW....satisfied?

Don't think for a moment I'm not aware of why you are so persistant here.

Amanda and Brian who have been dating for more than 5 years (all thru HS) soon after their engagement this past winter celebrated a bit too soon and the result is a baby that will be brought up in a loving home with two parents more than capable of taking care of this child.

well let's do it then.

I'll say.....of course a girl.......Nov 4th and it will be a small one at that.......6lbs 5 oz which is what Brian was. He was my smallest baby. Actually I don't even think they have a due date yet, just sometime in Novemeber.

Thanks Amanda for the update. The bassinet sounds wonderful. I had one for all three of my kids as well and it was a family thing that got passed around. I'm not sure who has it right now or even if it's still around since we've haven't been in great contact with the female inlaws that would be in the know.

THANK YOU.

I personally don't think this is something worthy of scorn and judgment, HOWEVER, you have made such a huge deal out of your children being such perfect Christians that I suspected you were trying to sweep this under the rug.

People aren't perfect. Not even your offspring. If premarital sex is wrong, then it is wrong whether you have been dating 5 years, 10 years, or 3 weeks.

Thanks for being honest.

Good luck with the ultrasound.
