It's a cold rainy day and I thought I'd get some work done around the house before I go out this afternoon. As I was cleaning the house this morning (taking my tea break now) I noticed the signs with cute little sayings I have all around the house. Never really noticed it before in this light. I thought it would be interesting to find out what cute sayings others have in their homes as well. I'm thinking it must have some insight on who we are to have these signs hanging around our homes.

Here is what I have.......

In the bath..........

CHANGING THE TOILET PAPER ROLL WILL NOT CAUSE BRAIN DAMAGE

MY AIM IS TO KEEP THIS BATHROOM CLEAN......YOUR AIM WILL HELP!!!!

In the kitchen I have........

I CAN PLEASE ONLY ONE PERSON PER DAY.....THIS IS NOT YOUR DAY AND TOMORROW IS NOT LOOKING TOO GOOD EITHER.

Another that says........

HOME SWEET HOME

putting the two above together.....isn't that what home is all about?

In the dining room I have........

COUNTRY COMMANDMENTS
ONLY ONE GOD

GO TO SUNDAY MEETING

DON'T HANKER FOR FRIEND'S THINGS

Also have another sign that says

LIVE IN SUCH A WAY THAT THOSE WHO KNOW YOU BUT DON'T KNOW GOD WILL COME TO KNOW GOD BECAUSE THEY KNOW YOU.

I also have a beautiful picture of a country scene with the words,

AS FOR ME AND MY HOUSE.....WE WILL SERVE THE LORD

In the hallway....

LORD MAKE OUR FAMILY A TESTIMONY OF YOUR FAITHFULNESS, AN EXTENSION OF YOUR LOVE AND A WITNESS OF YOUR SON TO THIS GENERATION

On the outside of our home I have a sign that has 5 snowmen with our names engraved on each one.

I've heard it said that you can tell alot about a person by looking into his checkbook and peering at his bookshelf. So now I'm thinking that the signs we have all over our homes also tells a bit about us as well.

IF I had signs in my home they would be:

In the kitchen: Fix your own meals, I quit the cooking business 4 decades ago!

In the living room: Pick up you own dishes and paper mess, I was granted my freedom back in 91! ( year of divorce)

In the bathroom: Pick up your own dirty clothes, you're not my husband

On my front door: God loves me as I am, so accept my home the way it is or leave me alone

Hey Trudy.......dishes in the LR???

With my light tan rug I was anal about not having that problem in my LR........of course when I wasn't home......I had no control and would find traces of very bad boy behavior.......they are not very good at covering their tracks and one wants to be in covert operations.....psh!!!

On my front door: God loves me as I am, so accept my home the way it is or leave me alone

I've seen a sign out there that says, IF YOU CAME TO VISIT ME......COME ON IN. IF YOU ARE HERE TO INSPECT MY HOME.....MAKE AN APPOINTMENT.

By my desk...

A framed poem from my daughter: "I Turn to You"

A framed poem my mom wrote to my husband about how grateful she is to have him for a son-in-law: "We Give Thanks"

A framed photo of myself and two other friends: "Friends are a lifetime of shared experiences and memories. A true friend is a gift to cherish. Friends are forever."

And a framed love letter from Joel to me.

BATHROOM:

a plaque given to us as a wedding present... two roses wound in a circle... "United in Love" Col 2:2 "My purpose is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ."

"Changing the toilet paper roll will not cause brain damage."

KITCHEN:

"My Mom is Special" (made by daughter)

Got this one as well....given to my by your daughter HC.....is that where you got yours? Mine is sort of between the LR and DR.

I don't have signs that are MOM oriented.....must be more of a girly thing. I do have that wonderful blog David wrote way back about the Rose of His Life.....that would be me......

......only cuz it was before Aly!! Now we know who the real Rose of David's life is.......and it's not MOM now.

where is that one, mom? i know where the rest are. and i remember giving you that one, "kfc". i took that picture almost 4 years ago i think.

since the rest of my house is covered, in my room, i have a couple things.
i have a plaque that says "Lord, may I make a difference in all that i do. The words I say, and the actions I take, Lord, May I glorify You, that You might be pleased with me."

then i have this wooden thing, with a picture of a white cat on a log. My grampa made it for my mom years ago. in the front of the glass it's etched in "God loves each of us, as if there were only one of us."
