SEASON'S GREETINGS

T'was the night before elections

And all through the town

Tempers were flaring,

Emotions up and down

I, in my jammies

With my dog in my lap,

Had cut off the TV

Tired of political clap-trap

When all of a sudden

There arose such a noise

I peered out my window

Saw Obama and his boys

They had come for my wallet

They wanted my pay

To give to the others

Who had not worked a day!

He snatched up my money

And quick as a wink

Jumped back on his bandwagon

As I gagged from the stink

He then rallied his henchmen

Who were pulling his cart

I could tell they were out

To tear my country apart!

'On Fannie, on Freddie,

On Biden and Ayers!

On Acorn, On Pelosi!

He screamed at the pairs!

They took off for his cause

And as they flew out of sight

I heard him laugh at the nation

That wouldn't stand up and fight!

So I leave you to think

On this one final note,

IF YOU DON'T WANT SOCIALISM

THEN GET OUT AND VOTE !!!!

GOD BLESS AMERICA ,

OUR ONLY HOPE!

2 more weeks.

on Oct 20, 2010

yes and for many it's all about "remember in November!"  Two more weeks!

For us it's even  earlier.  We're doing early voting this week.  The turnout here has been strong.

Funny (in a sad but true way)!

on Oct 21, 2010

Herman Cain was here last week at the tea party rally.  All this hype about elections, but the truth is, it won't change anything unless both Houses are won, and it may hurt Republicans in the long run if they just take the House (meaning 2012).

If the Reps win the House but not the Senate, then Republicans will be labeled stone-wallers, lovers of grid-lock, etc for the next two years because the Senate will block everything.

And then in 2012 people will rally to rid the gov of these blockers-to-a-better-life.  (Because Obama will be on prime time every week detailing every bill, every benefit these stonewallers are denying Americans.  You can bet your golf cart on that.)

Even people who vote for Reps/tea party now, will be bitching come 2012 if things are the same or worse.  Doubting their choices.

It seems to me, a changing of the guard isn't really gonna change things.

I hope I'm wrong.

I like this, should make a poster out of it.

Sounds like the sentiments on my article I posted yesterday. I feel this way even if they win both houses as Obama will simply do the same thing.

I have to disagree. Recent history has not proved that to be true. The Democrats won control of Congress in 2006. They were given a pass for two years and most everyone blamed Bush anyway. Things were pretty good (still) at the start of 2006 and were terrible at the end of 2008. It stands to reason if things remain bad Obama will catch the blame. When it all boils down Congress care more about their potential long lasting jobs than the presidents. Presidents come and go every 4 or 8 years.

I kind of want it to be a close match up in Congress (with less tax and spend liberals of course). That means bills have to be written more carefully, have to please a broader range, and are under more scrutiny in order to pass. That said, even the Republicans are fearful of the Tea Party. It may hold their feet to the fire if the Repubs win it all. Which will be a good thing. Complete control seems to breed indifference. Either way it pans out, I believe no politician in either party should get too comfortable in the peoples seats.

Ok, your argument is logical to me, and a good one.

I can't stop thinking that the "swing" vote that was so easily "swung" for Obama, and have now temporarily swung toward Reps because the reality of Obama didn't live up to the hype.

But if things get WORSE while Reps are in control of the house, all those swingers will be looking for a knight again, and Obama is in a position to make a bunch of empty promises and influence them.  Again.

Most Americans get the news from a major network that doesn't have FOX in the call letters, they won't believe the Dems are responsible because they will be told over and over and over its the Reps fault.  Just like they were told it was all Bush's fault even tho the Dems ruled.

Just like they're told tea party people are crazy...racists, etc.  The tea party is actually an amazing thing if you think about it.  Americans getting involved at the grassroots level.  Organizing, meeting, all of it.

Too bad they are labeled ignorant bigots by the majority of the media.  (And there are certainly some in EVERY crowd, heh.)

We'll see how it plays out.  I would rather see your scenario.  I just don't have a lot of faith in fickle voters.

I just don't have a lot of faith in fickle voters.

That's what keeps it interesting... for better or worse!

on Oct 22, 2010

I voted today.  We have early voting for two weeks so I took advantage of it.  We waited in line for about a half hour.  It's been reported that the polls here have been pretty constant.

I really hope Marco Rubio gets in and Crist goes home.
