I grew up listening to many different bible teachers speak about Russia and Iran going on the attack together against Israel in the future. My first recollections of this subject came in the 1970's when I was a young teenager. Of course back then we had the cold war going on so it wasn't so far fetched. But then after Reagan's famous "Mr. Gorbachev tear down this wall" speech some started to doubt this prediction or at least wonder when it would now take place. Instead of an imminent expected Russian attack we seemed to be getting along pretty jolly well.
Many times on this forum I've mentioned this background information regarding the future of Israel per the study of prophecy. It's one of the things that many who watch such things have been keeping an eye on for a very long time knowing that just as it all started over there so to will it end over there.
In recent times, we've watched, for the first time in history, Russia and Iran becoming increasingly friendly towards one another, exactly as predicted, while at the same time making Israel very nervous. Certainly Israel must be on high alert right now.
It's no secret that the countries surrounding Israel want them obliterated off the face of the map. They are and have been surrounded by enemies since the birth of their young nation.
Earlier this spring, my bible study teacher who is an older Jewish Christian who spends much time in Israel warned us that it was his feeling that by summer's end we may see Israel attack Iran.
He could very well be right. I just received this note from a friend and since this is only days away it won't take long to see if this is sensationalism; crying wolf or not:
Something major is in the works and it is very likely not good. So many have said Iran will be "ready to go" within days as it concerns her nuclear capability that it has become a bit like crying wolf. Few pay attention anymore.
Well, you'd better listen up.
The Jerusalem Post reports that Russia will start loading uranium fuel into the nuclear reactor of the Bushehr nuclear power station in Iran on August 21. This is the crucial step in outfitting Iran with nuclear weapons of mass destruction.
Russia says the latest U.N. sanctions against Iran will not affect the Bushehr project. This project was slated to happen in late September but now we are just days away from the point of no return. Israel must decide what she will do, and quickly.
Former U.N. Ambassador John Bolton told Fox News that, "Once the fuel rods are loaded it makes it essentially immune from attack by Israel. Because once the rods are in the reactor, an attack on the reactor risks spreading radiation in the air, and perhaps into the water of the Persian Gulf."
The story immediately became front-page news in Israel, which has laid precise plans to carry out an attack on Iran's nuclear facilities. Bolton made it clear that it is widely assumed that any Israeli attack on the Bushehr reactor must take place before the reactor is loaded with fuel rods. If that is the case, Israel must act before August 21.
