Let Me Count The Ways!

I love Pizza.  It's probably one of my favorite foods.  By the end of next August I'm wondering if I'll be really really sick of it.

Yesterday we had a grand opening of Cici's.  For those not familiar with this chain, it'a an all you can eat Pizza, Pasta, Salad and Dessert Buffet.  All for $5.49 plus tax.  If you want soda they said it's another $1.30 or you can get all the ice water you want.

We didn't have Cici's in the Northeast that I'm aware of.  My only experience with this eatery is when we'd go to Lynchburg.  The kids love it and it's cheap.

Well in Saturday's paper I saw a blurb that said the first 100 customers that show up on Monday would receive a free meal a month for a whole year.  Just call me #57.  Yep, I am a proud owner of a Cici's punch card that's good until next August 31st entitling me to a free meal a month.

I first thought about how many hours in line would be worth this endeavor.  I settled on two hours.  So at 9 am I golf carted the two miles down and saw an already small crowd gathered outside the door. I did a quick count and decided there wasn't yet 100 in line.  Some were smart enough to bring chairs to sit in.  Gah.  I wasn't one of them.  I did bring a magazine tho and found a shady spot at the end of the line.  I leaned against the wall and read my magazine.  So I was good.

I met two other couples I was able to chat with even making an appointment with one couple to attend their church at the end of the month.  The lady was all excited with the thought that I might be somebody who could help with their woman's ministry/teaching since they were lacking in that department.  The other couple looked like they may have been Japenese and we had a nice conversation about where we lived and how much we liked this area.  They were a very nice cute quiet little couple.

I found out by reading this morning's paper that the first couple that showed up to stand in line did so at 4 am!  Now that's not worth it!  I mean it's not an expensive meal to begin with and I figured it was worth about $70 for the ticket.  So that couple ended up making approximately $20 an hour and I made about $35 an hour.  Not bad for two hours work of just standing around.  But to get up at say 3 am....to me.....ain't happening!

Actually once they passed out our numbers guaranteeing our place, I went around the corner to the post office and grocery store for a few minutes.  I think the last of the 100 showed up somewhere around 10-10:30 or so.    I think I came in at a good time.   When they opened the doors I could get in with the first seating and not be still waiting for table space.  I felt bad in there eating watching a line still outside and waiting.  Oh well, we were there first.  Everything was done in order and went smoothly.

So when my crew comes next month for a visit....guess where we're going?  Yep.  Ethan can eat all the pizza he wants for free with me!  Those under 3 eat for free.

I wonder if any families showed up in line? Did they allow that?

That would have been neat, haha, to feed everybody 1 meal a month for free. My kids like pizza buffets but they really like Mr.Gattis (don't have on here) and Chuck E. Cheese for the games!

Our Realtor gave us a housewarming card and gift...the gift was a $50 gift certificate to Chuck E. Cheese. Best gift ever!!

oh yeah they did.  The couple I was talking with had three grandchildren from six to ten.  All five of them got tickets.  So I guess the grandparents will be taking these kids out once a month.  And I saw other families  with kids there as well.  Not a lot though and I'm surprised.  Mostly couples for the most part.

hahahaha I bet.  I can see that.  We got a gift certificate to Long Horn for $50 and used that up Saturday night.  To tell you the truth we were very disappointed.  The meal for two (without drinks) was $49.24 so with a tip it was well over the $50 we originally were gifted with.  I thought I got a better meal at Cici's and not only didn't have to tip but it only cost me $5.87.

Now who will be hiding the food!

hahaha....not hiding the food.....hiding the stomach!

For pizza-holics, Cici's is ok. But it really has lousy pizza. My daughter worked at a local one for a time. I have been about 2 times. For the kids, not for my pizza palate.

My mother-in-law introduced us to CiCi's here in West palm Beach. We go once in a while cause, like DrGuy said, their pizza is not exactly top of the line or even great. They are OK, good enough for a cheap meal, my kids like it so that's good enough for me. I much prefer Little Ceasers Pizza with their $5 pizzas and $2 breadsticks and sauce.

All for $5.49 plus tax. If you want soda they said it's another $1.30

Hmm, that's interesting, considering over here the drinks come with the meal, no extra charge, I think. All in all, I feed all 4 members of this family with less than $19.

Charles...Are you in WPB, Fl.!? Haha...That is where I am from, well, Boynton Beach, I lived most of my life down there. If you want some really good Italian food. My old bosses opened up a place in, I believe it's in Royal Palm Beach. The best food you will ever eat, I promise. Go there and tell them Kelly sent you. I worked for their family over 20 years when they owned Lynoras and Cappucinno's. Small world..

The Pizza is ok but not terrible in my book.  It's good enough and the variety is good and no tipping is needed.  I love Pizza Hut best.  But around here there really isn't any pizza place so we've been in a pizza drought since we moved here.  I mean, we can travel but it's nice to have one up the street or something and since we don't I've been buying the frozen grocery store kind.

But at Cici's here, they have a very nice salad bar, so between a nice big salad and a few pieces of pizza or some pasta the deal is pretty good and good for a quick supper on busy nights.
