What is going on?  Why the big push?  Is it any wonder people are so tired of this?  Here's the latest in So. Carolina.

The majority of South Carolina residents are upset over an advertising campaign to attract homosexual tourists. The ad campaign was run in London for several cities. South Carolina was the only state with a role, and their ad said "South Carolina is so gay."

Oran Smith of the Palmetto Family Council notes those who heard the ad were surprised. "And it was a shock to everyone who heard about it, and the contract was immediately canceled and the individual who is responsible has resigned," Smith explains. A legitimate question is whether state tax dollars were used for the promotion. "Yes, this was taxpayer money, which was allocated through the Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism," Smith adds.

State Senator David Thomas has called for an audit of the department, and Smith thinks that just might be a good idea. "There needs to be accountability to the legislature for the spending because they approved the spending," Smith contends. "And I think that every dollar that's spent to promote South Carolina should be spent in a way that's connected to South Carolina Values."

He points out that voters in South Carolina went to the polls and approved a constitutional amendment protecting marriage between a man and woman by a 78 percent margin. Smith believes it ought to be plain that residents of the state are not pro-homosexual.

"So there's a very strong feeling that the state law and state funds should not be going to promote the same-sex lifestyle -- and that contravenes the strong values of the state," Smith points out.

This reminds me of the fiasco we had in Maine.  We went to the polls three times over a period of years and successfully voted down three times against the homosexual agenda.  When that didn't work our most liberal of all liberal of govenors decided to sneak it thru the legislature sans a vote anyway.  My guess is they want to invade the southern bible believing states much like they did Massachusetts years ago.  The homosexuals took over prime spots in all of New England including Provincetown and worked their way to the courts and are now looking for other areas to get their agenda accepted by the public even to So. Carolina.

So why vote?  What diff does it matter anyhow?  Sometimes I really wonder.

I just read that a gay pride organization is going to pay for the campaign since the state refused.

Having been to South Carolina, LOL, it didn't seem very gay to me.

South Carolina is totally gay. Driving through on my way back to Georgia I was afraid to stop and eat. Thankfully my GPS was able to locate a Hooters where I Thought could dine with my own kind only to find mostly women eating there.

Myself and the only other two guys in there huddled at the bar eating our chicken wings. At first we felt totally gay but then we started to think that this aint so bad, our stock has be way up in this town.

KFC, what homosexual agenda? I honestly don't see how them fighting for the same rights that heterosexuals have and just wanting to be accepted as human beings (not as a disease or nonhuman) as being some evil agenda. I think all the hype and paranoia over is is bollocks. Why are they so scared of it? Why can't you just live your life, your own and let them get the same rights you enjoy?

Oh I would love it if things were switched around for once with heterosexuals being the ones in their shoes, then maybe there would be some understanding. You can't legislate morality, and you can't legislate who someone is. Treat others as you wish to be treated, period.

Isn't this the same state that's trying to offer Christian license tags for cars? Oy.

Be well.

I guess that's a good point, because those damned 'gays' don't get to go on vacation.

Their only vacation is straight to HELL, right?

Virginia is for gay lovers.

"We meant happy... really!"

The homosexual agenda, by the way, is to get people thinking that homosexuality is normal and healthy. Whether it is those things might be debatable, but the fact that homosexuals are trying to tell you it is and the Bible says it's a sin is the conflict and why they have an 'agenda' to tell us it's normal. Just as the church has an 'agenda' to tell you it's not. One of them is right.

I can see this happening.  I don't understand how a state using tax payer dollars could be used for a gay parade tho.  Can you imagine if the state put up the funds for a Chrisitian parade?

Having been to South Carolina, LOL, it didn't seem very gay to me.

me either although I've only been there once to visit so far and other times it was just driving thru.

Why can't you just live your life, your own and let them get the same rights you enjoy?

they have the same rights I enjoy.  That's not the issue.  They want special rights.  They want to change the definition of marriage.  That is not right nor is it a right.  They can marry whomever they chose.  Legally they can marry just like we can.  What they want to do is change the law so they can marry each other.  That is a special right and morally speaking that is legislating sin.

This article shows how pushy they are.  Trying to strong arm a state that has already declared they don't want it.  This happens all the time.  Seen it happen in the Northeast time and time again.

Their only vacation is straight to HELL, right?

depends on how they plan their trip.......

Nah, that was Florida.

you're right on this one SC...

Virginia is for gay lovers.
