We are in Turmoil
Published on June 5, 2008 By KFC Kickin For Christ In Misc

Things are getting out of control every which way in our world.  Don't you feel that?  The kids are going crazy.  The storms are wrecking havoc all over our land with news again today of another state being declared a state of emegency.  The food, gas and oil prices continue to increase and now the utilitiy companies are starting to announce higher electric bills are on the horizon.  This is just the beginning.

It just seems physically, emotionally, globally, religiously, economically, politically and every which way we are in turmoil.  All over the world.

From a Christian POV I do believe it's not going to go on much longer.  I think we are at the "birth pang" stage and it's not going to be that much longer for the world as we know it.  Many Christians who have studied the signs of the times for years are pretty much in agreement.  "Keep looking up" they say as they end their correspondence with each other.

I'm reading a book "EpiCenter" by Joel Rosenberg which is quite an eye opener as he puts these things all together looking from the lens of scripture.  He has already been on the New York Best Seller's List with his works of fiction so he was asked by the publisher to write this, a non-fiction book,   to help put all the pieces of the end time puzzle together.  He has an uncany knack for predicting things ahead of time via his writings that are eerily very close to reading the newspaper.   So he's been questioned.  Over and over again.  "How do you know this is going to happen?  How can you write about things that haven't happened yet?"

Easy.  He's looking at prophecy and making some pretty good educated guesses and he's hitting the bullseye.

He's been on every radio and TV station out there for the most part as well as interviewed by the UN and CIA.  This is pretty big stuff he's writing about.  Poitics, Russia, Islam, Iran, Israel and how the stage is being set for what is called the war of Armageddon.  The countries are lined up exactly as written 2,500 hundred years ago.  He even had a bible study going in the UN because they wanted to read and understand what he was referring to.  Pretty cool.  The UN reading the Book of Ezekiel.  He himself was pretty amazed at even that one.

One of the things he says to watch out for, and I've known this before, is to watch for Oil to be found in Israel.  Now that will cause much turmoil.  Good for us perhaps?  But bad for the Arabs in the surrounding countries I'm sure.  Israel is known to be the only middle eastern country with no oil.   They have been surrounded by countries dripping with oil,  but they, up until now, have not been so fortunate.  It will happen.

In Rosenberg's fictional best seller "The Last Jihad" he wrote about a fictional oil strike in Israel discovered by a fictional American investment company run by a fictional Russian Jewish petroleum engineer.

Just days before his novel was released in 2002 a newsflash came across the wires "Israeli Geologist Drills for Oil Based on Biblical Guidance."  The article was about an Orthodox Jew born and raised in Russia who became convinced while studying the bible that there was black gold buried in Israel.  So convinced he moved to Israel and has conducted much research into this and had concluded at first that there are 65 million barrels of oil in central Israel alone.  But he was wrong.

A year later the news broke that this guy, Tovia Luskin and his collegues, had discovered oil reservoirs at their drilling site holding not 65 million barrels but 100 million barrels.  A few months later came more news.  New testing revealed that the site contained upward of a billion barrels leading the AP to report "An Israeli oil company has made the largest oil find in the hisory of the country."

Here are some headlines around the world since then:

They say history repeats itself.  Will we ever learn to listen and read the world thru the lens of scripure?  Probably not.  But just as the bible told us the world was round and not flat and that the earth was suspended on nothing so too does the bible indicate who the major players will be in the greaestt battle of all times and that  there will be peace in Israel once again.

"See that no one leads you astray.  For many will come in my name saying "I am the Christ" and they will lead many asray.  And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars.  See that you are not alarmed, for this must take place but the end is not yet.  For nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom and thre will be famines and earthqueakes in various places.  All these are but the beginning of the birth pains.  Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and put you to death and you will be hated by all nations for my name's sake." Jesus in Matthew 24

Keep looking up!

I want to see the temple rebuilt in my lifetime.

It is one of my heart's desires.

on Jun 06, 2008

me too.

I recently found out that they have already trained a new priesthood to take over and everything seems in place.  They seem to be very ready for the rebulding of this temple and I believe once it gets started it will only be a matter of months before it would be completed.

I don't think it will be that fast.

I think the hardest part will be the waiting, once it is obvious things are going to go ahead.

I don't think it will start until the holocaust generation has totally passed on. I have my reasons for that, but I won't get into it here since you are going to be here in a couple weeks anyway.

ya, well I've heard that as well.  My mom thought that same thought about the holocaust and it does make sense in my opinion as well.  It's getting very close if that is a criteria.

I don't think it will be that fast.

well that's what Rosenthal was speaking about Tuesday.  He goes to Jerusalem twice a year and has been for abou 35 years and he said they are more than ready and that it will be a matter of months not years to get that temple up.  Not sure how many months but could be like you know....18 or so.

I noticed one thing you haven't mentioned in your article is the Rapture.  Perhaps it's not a theory you subscribe to (in which case I'm glad).

Perhaps we are headed for the end, perhaps not.  There have been signs for centuries that people were positive that the second coming was about to happen and they were wrong then.  It's possible they'll be wrong now.

Jesus told us not to worry about the day to day things.  To trust in God who clothes the fields and feeds the sparrows - that we are much more value than those sparrows.  Yes, things could get out of control and we could enter another world war, but again - Trust In God!

For those who do subscribe to the "Rapture" theory - may I suggest a book entitled "The Rapture Trap" - a very inciteful book that shows not only that this is a relatively new theory - but that it also is not a valid one.

I do believe in the rapture but maybe not as you think. The rapture is quite biblical and I have no choice but to believe in it. The question is not if, but when it will take place.

There have been signs for centuries that people were positive that the second coming was about to happen and they were wrong then. It's possible they'll be wrong now.

This is true. Again, they were not wrong with the event, they were only wrong in the timing. Alot of it depends on Israel. Israel coming into their own nation had to be accomplished first. At this point in time, it could be any day but even still two things we must witness fist. The AC's presence and the re-building of the Jewish Temple. After these two things I belive it could be anyday after that.

Besides all that, God had in mind that we would live in expectation. He wants us to be alert and ready. If he had given us a timetable there would have been no need to be alert and ready but instead we might have been apathetic especially now since it's been over 2000 years since Christ departed with the words to wait for him.

may I suggest a book entitled "The Rapture Trap" - a very inciteful book that shows not only that this is a relatively new theory - but that it also is not a valid one.

I prefer going to the source myself..the bible. There are many opinions out there but the only one I'm concerned with is the word of God.

If anyone is going to believe the Bible, the complete Bible, not just parts here and there, they need to look at the Book of Acts and study it. It is the only Book in the New Testament that doesn't end in Amen, therefore it is still continuning.

Acts is a great book about the history of the church but I'm not so sure you can say it's the only book that is still continuing. The NT is mostly made up of letters written to diff groups and all is still applicable today. When I read the letter to Colossians, for instance, I can still apply what Paul is writing about to us today. It's still very relevant.

The book of Revelation is still continuing as well. I think we are in the beginning stages of the birthpangs that will start, or has already started, the ball rolling.

The things Joel has written are pretty convincing.  The chilling affect hit me a few months ago when news agencies reported that Russia and Iran had entered into trading agreements that include, among other things, military and nuclear technologies.

What is chilling about this is Iran (Persia) and Russia have historically been at each other's throats throughout history.  Yet, Ezekiel tells us that Rosh (Russia) and Tubal (Persia) will attack Israel (with other allies) and that when this army reaches Israel God will destroy them on the mountains.  Joel has written a fictional account of this as well.

When this happens (this army is destroyed); then you'll know that the end is really, really near.  Then you can start worrying or rejoicing - depending on what relationship you have with Christ.

I thought Amen meant 'truth' not 'the end'
on Oct 18, 2008

Amen litterally means "It is done", from what I've heard throughout the years.

I had to pick myself off the floor. Laughing too hard.

This is hilarious. "Global turmoil". "The end of time". "Keep looking up".

Wow. Ever heard of Nostradamus? He predicted things before they happened. Of course, he was also crazy and was usually higher than the sky. Just because someone 'predicts' something and it happens doesn't mean they're right about everything. I mean, seriously. Holy crap! My weatherman said a hurricane would hit soon, and it DID. Incredible! Quick, weatherman, when is the apocalpyse?

So he predicted a israeli would fin oil in israel. Which is in the center of the oil heart of the world. Wow, great prediction! Just because noone has found oil there doesn't mean there isn't any. They just didn't look hard enough. And you're right about educated guesses. Hmm, what would happen if the only jewish state surrounded by muslims found a boatload of oil. Why, maybe they would fight! I never thought of THAT.

Oh, and it's so shocking that Russia is dealing with iran? Let's all remember that Russia doesn't care who you are, as long as you pay them. Highest bidder anyone? So yes, very chilling.

And the storms 'going crazy' and states being declared in the state of emergency, did it not occur to you that you posted this in the middle of hurricane season?? Wonderful analysis.

And by the way, the earth isn't unlimited. No wonder we're starting to run out of natural reasources. That's why the prices are going up. Strange isn't it? Prices go up....because theres less of it to go around! Amazing!

I do keep looking up. Because theres a damned seagull that keeps crapping on my car. Divine anyone?

Oh, and just remember, the more open you are to something being real, the more you're going to see it. Hell, watch aliens. For the rest of the night you're going to be wary. Because you just saw it, you're more open to the idea that it is real. You may know that there's a snowball's chance in hell of it being right, but you'll still see it.

I recently found out that they have already trained a new priesthood to take over and everything seems in place.

Who is training a new priesthood? Where did you find that out?

"Amen" derives from the root 'MN which means "fixed" or "reliable". I would translate it as "sure". It is often translated as "verily" or even "truly". The Hebrew word for truth is "emeth" ('MT). I don't think the words have anything to do with each other apart from sharing two of three letters.

"Truly" would be "b'emeth" (literally "in truth").

Note that "emeth" consists of the three letters that frame the alphabet: Alef is the first letter, Mem is the middle letter, Tav is the last letter. If you remove the beginning, you get MT which is the root for "death".
