Looking Forward to It

I'll be heading to Ohio in a few weeks staying with my son and daughter in law as they await the birth of their second child.  I'll have the honor of being able to spoil....ummmmm I mean take care of little Ethan when my d-i-l goes into the hospital.  It was nice seeing all three of them at the wedding and not so hard saying good-bye knowing I'd be at their doorstep in a few short weeks.

I've been doing some traveling lately.  Less than a month ago I was in Lynchburg, then last week I was in Chicago and now am packing my bag getting ready for Ohio.  I may even squeeze Maine in before Ohio if I can get cheap enough tickets.  Still looking.

One of the things I'm hoping to do is keep a date with Tova and visit the Creation Museum.  This Museum is the first of it's kind in Petersburg and presents a literal interpretation of Creation via the bible.  It has had over 400,000 visitors since it opened last May.  It's been a terrific first year for this new venture.

They are now talking about expanding it.  One of the new additions will include a Children's outdoor playground, more parking lots and an auditorium for speakers to visit among other things.

But since the crowds have been larger than expected some extras have already been added.  They've added more walking trails, a children's reading program and a petting zoo among other things.

The popularity of this museum has far out surpassed any expectations and they continue to be a point of interest in the Cincinnati area.

Now many are requesting museums like this be built in their cities.  While there are no such plans right now the people at the Creation Museum are starting to plan one-room displays throughout the country to serve as mini-museums.

I can't wait to see this first hand and am kind of glad I waited since they've made even more improvements than when I first wrote about this museum more than a year ago.

It's about time I get to visit this place since I've written about it more than once in hopes of one day seeing it in person.

We can go during the week, mid week maybe, when it should be fairly empty...that way we can take our time and let the kids explore.

How far is that from Dayton?  It would be cool to have a JU mini get together.  I love to ride coasters!

that sounds like a good plan.  I'm sure Ethan would love to check out the kid friendly spots and run around some.    We can go mid-week because.......we can...lol.

Cedar Point is probably around 180 miles from Dayton. It's a great park if you love coasters. But if you want something closer King's Island is only about 30 to 40 miles from Dayton.

Except for Chicago, you are traipsing over my stomping grounds. Pay back for me running to florida? Does this mean we are running in the same circles?

I went to school next door to your son (Dayton). That was a LOT of years ago, so I am sure it has changed and sorry, I dont know of any new spots there. But have a great trip. Say Hi to Tova (she is a briar - you will learn about them when you get to Ohio).

And have fun! This time of year, you are not going to see much change in temperature. or Humidity.

I think they are up to about 14 coasters there. I have never been to Cedar Point (EVERYONE has heard of it in Ohio), but KI is getting up there too.

It might be a break to head for the North after having a taste of the Florida humidity so I'm looking forward to it.

I never heard of King's Island.  Well I'd love to go to KI and ride the coasters but I'm sure my very pregnant D-i-l will not be so accomadating and I sure don't want to be the reason she goes into labor.  Besides, Ethan is way too little so I'm thinking we're going to have to go to the petting zoo and stick around the house to wait for his new brother to be born.
