Wondering what to do with your rebate check? There are numerous ways to spend this long awaited windfall. Many businesses are clamoring to take your money with some pretty good deals out there. The one that makes the most sense to me is that some grocery stores are offering incentives via gift cards to help you stretch your grocery budget by giving you 10% more. So if you buy a $300 card they'll add $30 and for those with a $600 rebate willing to invest it in groceries would get a gift card worth $660. Not bad especially with the rising cost of groceries. Hmmmm wonder if we could get gas cards with the same deal?
We've been thinking of dressing up our front door. There's a company here who will come out, cut out the inserts in our plain front door and insert a very nice decorative glass door which would greatly enhance our front entry not to mention give us more light in the front part of our home. Anyhow, this company is offering some "rebate deals" and I'm thinking that would be nice since we wanted to do this anyhow. Now if I can convince the hubby...lol.
I got this from a friend today with some thoughts on how to keep this money here in the US. Maybe they should attach this notice with each check!
As you may have heard, the Administration said each of us would get a rebate check to stimulate the economy.
If we spend that money at Wal-Mart, all the money will go to China.
If we spend it on gasoline it will go to the Arabs.
If we purchase a computer it will go to India.
If we purchase fruit and vegetables it will go to Mexico, Honduras, and Guatemala.
If we purchase a good car it will go to Japan or Mexico.
If we purchase useless crap it will go to Taiwan....and none of it will help the American economy.
We need to keep that money here in America.
The only way to keep that money here at home is to spend it at yard sales; since those are the only businesses still in the U.S.
