Thumbs Up

Ok, I held my opinion until now of the new format here on JU.  I actually like it now that I've used it this last week or so.

At first I wasn't sure.  I'm not big on changes.  I'm all if it ain't broke don't fix it mentality but I do have to say I'm liking alot of the new features here.

There's only two things I've seen that sort of (but work around it) bug me.  The first is when I go to quote another for a response it goes to the top of my reply box instead of the bottom of already quoted and reply exchange.

The other thing I noticed is that there is no delete button.  I see quote and blacklist but no delete.  I hate to blacklist anyone but feel I now have to if I'm not given the ability to just delete a nasty comment instead.

Other than that, I think overall this is a much easier and useful JU than before.

It's growing on me too!  That quote thing is a pain!  Have you downloaded Window's Live yet?  It's great to write with!

I like it a whole lot better today than I did a week ago.

I miss the "more" thing..when we coud click on it and see all the recent articles from the last two seconds to the last two days in one long list.

It may be here somewhere but I haven't found it yet.

No, how do I do that FS?  Did I miss a link or something?  I usually just write here on JU unless I'm cutting and pasting an article from my email like I just did today (on humor forum).

Yes, I do too and am wondering if they'll somehow bring that back since I've seen changes still occuring like seeing my replies highlighted differently to show me there has been a change.

no, me either.  All I see is some of the latest articles but that's it.  It doesn't go too deep.......hahahah like me sometimes.......

Read Zoomba's blog on the main page, he gives instructions and it's pretty easy to follow.  A link is there to just click on too!  I downloaded it on my home and work computer!  I've heard others commented how great it was to use and how easy, they are right!  I've linked my blog and another weblog I keep on MSN to it and it definitely makes for a much better blog experience!

There's another article that Zoomba wrote warning us not to use Word or some other program I can't remember right now (never heard of it too), to cut and paste on our blogs because the formatting is a problem for JU2.  Main page - a couple of blogs are there to read!

This was on my mind today!  I miss that feature too.  Maybe it will be back when they've finished doing what they do!

See, I'm the opposite.  The more I use it, the more I'm mostly annoyed by it.  But hey, you can't please everyone . . .

Let's not let this be another point of argument between us, though.  Plenty of those already.

I don't think I like it.

The old JoeUser already had weird quirks with commenting not working from some Web browsers, but the new JU seems worse.

In OmniWeb, I cannot log in. I try but the new page loaded pretends I am logged out again. I also get a login window asking for user name and password for almost every single page I visit. I don't want to use a second Web browser just for one site.

Also, very often links to articles simply lead me back to the main page.

And everything seems smaller.

I guess I just don't like change.

Getting old?

I like a lot of the new features, and am reserving judgement on the old ones that are missing as they did say they were still working on the. The quote (missing in the regular JU) in the regular JU used to put them at the top, I have not tried multiples in the forums yet, so that may be a Zoomba Release 2 fix.

It does take some getting use to, but as the enhanced features are great, I will bide my time and wait for the rest to come up.

I do love the Blacklist - as now it tells you who you have blacklisted without having to visit the page all the time. Nice! Especially for those who only do it for short periods.

Thanks guys and gals. It's going to continue to get better too.

The Recent Articles list is back (it snuck in sometime in the last couple days).  Before today, you'd click on the Recent Articles header on the right side and it would take you to all of the recent articles (like it used to) with a blurb of the article.  As of this morning (at least, that's when I noticed it ... ) There's a more ... link at the bottom of the Recent Article list that does the same thing.

hahahaha T.....did I ever tell you that I CAN'T swim?  I stay out of the deep parts...LOL.

Thanks FS.  I'll do that.  I think I skimmed one or two articles in the beginning but must have missed that part.

See, I'm the opposite. The more I use it, the more I'm mostly annoyed by it. But hey, you can't please everyone . . .

Well hopefully SC you'll come around......   It's kind of funny because usually the younger folk have no problem jumping into change while us older dogs hate to change.

Let's not let this be another point of argument between us, though. Plenty of those already.

Ha!  For me I move on quickly.  What is past is past ya know?   I don't hold onto things.  Life is too short.

And everything seems smaller.

I noticed this as well.

Me too.  I really hate using the blacklist and have only just done so for the first time ever.  Mainly because I can't see a "delete" button instead and feel I have no other choice so that I don't like.  I won't say whom I've Blacklisted but I'm sure she'll make it known shortly.

Thanks guys and gals. It's going to continue to get better too.

I think so too and have already seen some nice changes as we go along.

There's a more ... link at the bottom of the Recent Article list that does the same thing.

Thanks for the update.

Well I'm just glad you  stopped by here.
