Hopefully He's Got More to Come

Ya-hoo.....Huckabee won the first Super Tuesday primary. He took W. Virginia. He's been ignored quite a bit lately Now they'll have to at least give him a soundbite for this one.

It won't be long before we find out who the big winner of Super Tuesday is.

It's called double teaming. Political manuevering. It happens all the time. It's political. McCain's supporters went to Huck instead of Romney. It's politics especially in caucus states. Delegates are shifted.

Lol. And after you admit that, you are saying that McCain's vice-president might by Huckabee? After we all know that Huckabee's wins are the result of McCain's political tactics?

He would be much more intelligent to take Romney, since his own wins will be earned ones. I say the whole business is a loss for Huckabee

First off, I made no such claim about VP position.

Second......at least we know these two are getting along......

Thank you.

You're welcome Cedarbird! Don't worry about us not always agreeing on the issues....I'm almost (not quite) old enough to be your grandma!!

I thought double teaming only popped up in those movies that children shouldn't watch.

I was thinking more in line with basketball. Double teaming happens all the time and nobody ever says anything about that. Not fair? Says who?

not really. He simply see (as he should) Romney as the true treath.

Umm . . . the rulebook, last I heard. It's illegal in the NBA to double team, they just don't get caught very often.

Sounds suspiciously similar to the unholy alliance between McCain and Huckleberry . . .

Abortion: He's the only one that has been brave enough to come out and say abortion is just plain wrong. He seems to me to be the only one that understands how important this issue is. He "gets it." He sees the slaughter of these innocent babies safe in their mother's womb as barbaric. So do I.

Fair enough. Even in oh-so-left-wing Europe abortion is mostly illegal.

Homosexual Special Rights & Marriage: He's against homosexual marriage and the special rights of the Homosexuals. Romney, on the other hand had his hands full in MA pushing funding for the pro-homo indoctrination of school age children, homosexual Boy Scout Leaders, and homosexuals serving openly in the military. Not sure where McCain is but he did vote against the Federal Marriage Amendment.

What "special rights"? What's wrong with "pro-homo indoctrination" and homosexual Boy Scout Leaders?

And what's the problem with homosexuals serving openly in the military? They do in Israel and few would argue that the Israeli army is worse for it.

The Federal Marriage Amendment is a states' rights issue, not a homosexuality issue.

Taxes-Huckabee is fiscally conservative cutting taxes many, many times leaving Arkansas with a surplus. I lived in Maine and I heard the stories coming out of MA on Romney's tax and spend plans. He doesn't believe in cutting anything. He has a socialist agenda just like Hillary. He didn't call his millions of dollars tax hike a tax by the way.....he called them fees and left the state in chaos. I'm actually stunned his own state voted him in. Everyone I knew hated his ideas. Check out his healthcare plan.

There is a difference between fees and taxes. Fees are to be used for specific ventures, taxes can be used for anything the government want.

Gun Control-Huck is pro second amendment. He's a staunch supporter of our rights on this issue. Romney is not. In fact, he signed some of the strictest gun controls in the country. I'm not sure about McCain here. He seems to have a mixed bag from what I've read.

I don't see how gun control is an important subject for a Christian.

McCain at least knows something about guns.

Federal Marriage Amendment (FMA)-Huck strongly supports marriage between one man and one woman. So do I.

So what? Marry a man. Who cares?

You realise that marriage thing is about OTHER PEOPLE, not you? What business of yours is it what other people do???

on Feb 07, 2008

Gays should have the same damn right to be married...period.

They do. It's just that they don't want to make use of the right they have. They want a different, new right.

I wouldn't vote for it.

For me "gay marriage" is simply an indicator of a country's level on the civilisation scale.

Hmm, true enough. But the government has to recognize something between two people of the same sex that decide to be together...a civil union would indeed be just the thing.

I agree.

However, I would prefer it if the government kept out completely. If two people want to get "married", let them find the appropriate religion for their particular taste and get at it.

Stupid NBA rules. At least in College they dont have that one.

Interesting analogy KFC. However in this game of politics three people are on the court not 10 like in basketball. In the game of basketball you can utilize a double team using other player to be open after drawing the double team. This is hardly the case here. This is more like a game of 21 where two ganged up against the other (instead of being 1 vs 1 vs 1).

Just my perspective.

ummmmmmmm I wasn't necessarily talking NBA. All my boys played basketball for years all they way thru HS and double teaming was done all the time to them. My youngest who would score as many as 44 pts a game was almost always double teamed!

So now that Romney is out I have a question. Who gets his delegates? Anybody? Or do they just go down the drain? If so, then it was a good thing that Huck got those votes in W.Virginia afterall isn't it? Otherwise they would have gone with Romney out the door.

So why didn't Huckabee's supporters go vote for McCain instead of McCain's voting for Huckabee?

awful presumptious. If Huckabee was out of the race earlier then everything could have shifted. Romney 'might' have collected enough to force this nomination to go to convention. It's really Huckabee's delegates that are going down the drain as he never really had a chance.

Maybe Huckabee thinks if he is VP that maybe he will finish McCain's term for him (assuming they gain presidency)?

He is not "out", he has only "suspended" his campaign. And the reason for the semantics is that until he is "out" no one gets them. They stay loyal to him and he can do with them as he wants (including have them vote for Huckabee at the convention if it makes a difference).

well it wouldn't be the first time. He had to step up for Tucker rember that?

If this pans out as it could with McCain as the winner then he would be very smart to get a real conservative for his VP because right now it could very well be down to three democrats in the running.....Clinton, Obama and McCain.

And the reason for the semantics is that until he is "out" no one gets them.

So Romney decides? Oh. Didn't know that. Well maybe Romney will cut a deal with McCain for the VP position then?

Did you see the picture of Ed Kennedy, Hillary and Obama all standing near each other? In the picture Kennedy is whispering to Obama and they are both looking towards Hillary. It's a real pic.

The balloon over Kennedy's head says......"If I drive her home will you make me Vice President?"
