We got our new golf cart last night. Yipeeeee!
I've been carless for weeks now. Homebound for the most part. If I want wheels, I had to get up early to drive my husband to work and then go about my day with real power beneath my seat. Other than that I've been using my bike alot. And that's ok for me most of the time. But it's real hard to get groceries on a bicycle.
So we decided to just take this new cart for a spin. We drove along unfamiliar roads we hadn't tried before and promptly got lost. It was dark so it made things that much harder. We finally backtracked the best way we knew how and somehow managed to find our way back. Even tho it was about 70 I was cold. We had the flaps up and the breeze in the open air made for a chilly ride.
We stopped at Publix, picked up two large Boar Head Sandwiches and went home to eat them. Boy was I starved after that ride. When we got home, it was only eight o'clock but it felt like we were out for many hours instead of just an hour and a half.
So I called the boys on the cell to tell them I was riding around Florida in a golf cart with their father. David was working and only Bobby picked up but Brian called back so I was able to speak with two of them. When I got home I had a message from the youngest son who must have been on a break from work when he called home.
So it's a really different colored golf cart. It's unique. We got a sandstone color car with burgandy and navy fabric all over. The seat showcases both colors with a hint of sandstone on the edges of the back seat to pick up the car color. The awning around the top is burgandy with navy flaps that come down both sides and back of the car. The Club protector that rolls out over where you're supposed to put your clubs in is burgandy which makes for a very sharp looking car when all the flaps are down and protector pulled down.
One of the men who works there commented on our car saying he liked it alot. It was different in the colors picked. He laughed because now that it's out there they will probably get orders for 50 more in the coming weeks. I think there is a lot of this copycatting that goes on. I was thinking of maybe doing up a Patriots car but wondered if I'd get sick of it after a while.
So later on today I think I'll take the car out for a ride and do some more cruisin'. I've got lots of cruisin' to catch up on, and it's going to be a beautiful day.
