Too Nice To Be Thinking Christmas Already
Today I met a couple from NH. I took my bike out today trying to get my bearings around the neighborhood. I found a Plaza with brand new shops one way and in the opposite direction our Town Landing with many more nice shops and eateries waiting for us to check out.. Lots to do down here.
Anyhow I ended my trip in both directions with a stop at the mailboxes. Our Village has its own set of mailboxes. Next to this is a very nice pool just waiting for the first really hot day for me to jump in. So it was here at the group mailbox that I met Brian, the man from NH. Within 10 minutes I was following him home. He in his golf cart and me lagging behind on my bike. He wanted me to meet his wife Karen.
They have been here since July and absolutely love it here. The first question around here is usually "where are you from?" The next thing usually stated is "you're going to love it here." You can put money on this. Happens all the time.
So we find out we lived about three hours away from each other up north. He said he also met somebody recently from my own hometown. I can't wait to find out who this is. His second question to me after asking where I was from was, "Are you a Patriot's Fan?" He also told me they get all the Red Sox games here as well as the Patriots' games.
After my little bike trip, I came home had a little to eat and waited for hubby to come home. I put chicken and potatoes in the oven and we went for a four mile run. At night. There's so many street lights here and it's so warm it's easy to run at night here.
Another thing we noticed is the fact that we get about an extra hour of daylight here than in Maine. I think some of this, if not all, is the fact that we had so many mountains surrounding us and here it's pretty flat.
I actually am surprised tho that where we are living we're running on rolling hills. We were actually pleasantly surprised because we expected total flatness. Now no matter which way we go we are either running up or down. Not long or steep but just enough to know you're climbing and it can be seen as a definite hill in the distance as we run towards it.
I'm not missing the cold nor the snow to come up North. Maybe I will sometime but I'm thinking it won't be this year. I have had so much of it for so long it's bound to stay with me a long time. Right now I'm enjoying this nice warm weather and can't believe I'm in the month of November.
Yikes. It's almost December and I've got to get a Christmas Tree. Hopefully ALL the kiddos are coming to their new home away from home this year. They are going to love my new lighted Palm Tree. Yes sireeee they've never seen one like this before.
Tomorow is going to be "going thru the Christmas stuff" day.
