means waiting by the phone in anticipation

Moms like their grown kids to call them once in a while, especially on those special days like Mother's Day.

Since yesterday was Mother's Day I was wondering who would and wouldn't call. I figured my eldest and youngest were a given but unsure about the middle child. Why? Well, because he's a middle child. That and he's forgotten before. So on the way home from church we were taking bets who would call first. It wasn't much of a bet. We both hinged our bets on the same boy.

We guessed correctly. David. He's the most sentimental and family oriented of the three. But it was close. Not five minutes after I hung up with David the eldest called. And surprise of all surprises Brian did call afterall. ....hahahaha not sure but I did wonder how much his new wife had to do with that one!! I actually talked with him the longest, like an hour or so. So by 4:30 yesterday all three boys called. It was nice.

Then today I got a very nice Mother's Day card from Aly even tho she's not my daughter in law.....yet. She may be one day but until then.......but she's very good at sending me a note or card here and there. The funny thing was she sent me the same exact card I sent my own mother. She bought hers in VA and I bought mine in NH. Do you know what the chances of that is given the amount of different Mother's Day Cards out there? I didn't go to Walmart either. She probably did. I thought that was something.

Anyhow even tho none of the boys are home I do look forward to David coming home the end of the week for the summer. This may be his last summer home since he graduates next year. We have alot of plans in the wings already. So I'm going to make the most of it before the empty nest is completely empty.

I think I'll start by making his favorite no bake chocolate oatmeal cookies.

Glad your boys called.

I think Mother's Day will mean more to me when my boys are grown....It's nice now, but when they remember on their own it will be even better.

I didn't call my mom but I sent her a card. Maybe it's because I'm the middle child. I did hassle my hubby until he called his mom though.
