I've been reading and studying the scriptures since I was a small child being drawn to the amazing words of God. This book is much more than printed pages of ink. I believe it's God's love letter to humanity. It's how he speaks to me and let's me know what's on his mind. I've heard it said that the devil doesn't care if you are kind and helpful or go to church every Sunday or not. What ticks the devil and his angels off the most is our communication with God. Satan does not like us reading the scriptures or praying to God. Reading God's word is one way he communicates with us, and of course our praying is how we communicate with God. So Satan and his busy little angels are doing all they can in their endeavers to stop this.

There's enough in there for even the smallest child to understand and also for the deepest thinker of all times to study and ponder until his time on earth is done.

I wrote this little poem down some time ago since it resonated with how I felt about the bible. Hope you enjoy as well.

In the bible we read of the mind of God, the state of man, the way of salvation and the doom of sinners. We read of the happiness of believers, its doctrine, its holy precepts are binding, histories are true, and its decisions are immutable.

We are to read it to become wise, believe it to be saved and practice it to be holy. It contains strength to direct you, food to support you, comfort to cheer you. It is the travelers map, the pilgrims staff, pilots compass, the soldiers' sword and the Christians' charter. Here heaven is open and the gates of Hell disclosed. Christ is its grand subject and good is its design and the glory of God is its end. It should fill the memory, rule the heart and guide the feet.

What's not to like here? We need to take a brand new look at the grand old book!!!

Nice article KFC.

I have never in my life regretted any time I spent in the Word, nor any of the widsom I learned and applied to my life from it.

I can't say that about a single other thing in my life.

Thanks guys. I guess we're on the same page......I agree Tova. There is nothing out there the literary world has to offer that even comes close to what this ancient book has to offer. It's as applicable to our lives today as it was to the ones it was written to. It's timeless. But then as we know God is not bound by time. His word reflects that as well. I am continually amazed at what I find in there as I dig deeper into it.

I agree. To me it is his letter of engagement as his bride. Let's me know how I am supposed to live. How I am to act.

Thanks for sharing KFC.
