Of course it's no secret but I enjoy very much thinking outside the physical.  I believe the physical is just a visible picture of the spiritual.  For every physical reality we have a spiritual counterpart.  I also believe the spiritual is much more important than the tangible or what is often called the temporal.  Life is just a vapor and then we move on to something eternal.  Too many times we are content on dealing with the physical while we ignore the spiritual although we are made up of both spiritual and physical components.

I spend alot of time thinking, meditating, reading and studying spiritual things.  I read a myriad of devotionals each day along with the usual bombardment of humanistic secular literature that comes my way.

Today I read this in one of my devotionals and I thought it was worth repeating.

Today's Turning Point

The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God stands forever.

In his book Maximum Achievement, corporate trainer Brian Tracy writes, "Virtually everything you do is the result of habit. The way you talk, the way you work, drive, think, interact with others, spend money and deal with the important people in your life are all largely habitual." But then he says, "The good news is that all habits are learned, and they can therefore be unlearned."*

It's easy to see the habits in our lives. We brush our teeth, dress ourselves, and drive to work the same way. Those habits may or may not need changing. But here's one habit we should definitely unlearn: our tendency to consider the temporal implications of life's choices and events before we consider the eternal. The apostle Paul learned to emphasize the eternal after meeting Christ. He said that his only goal was to know "Christ Jesus [his] Lord" and "attain to the resurrection from the dead" (Philippians 3:8, 11).

Every action of our lives touches on some chord that will vibrate in eternity.
