"Save your fork."

Our Pastor friend said those are the sweetest three little words in the English language especially for those who love to eat.  Not only does he know when he hears these three little words that he can keep on eating, there's sure to be something sweet coming his way.  This may be the best part of the meal, he said, especially for those with a sweet tooth.  So he gladly hangs onto that fork.

Now along those lines dealing with food and three little words, I have to say the three little words I dread right now are:

"Welcome to Cici's!"

My husband knowing how I feel has been going around the house saying "Welcome to Cici's" with a wicked grin on his face the last few days.

For those who may remember, I wrote about winning a year's worth of free meals at Cici's last August.  I was so excited.  We didn't have a Cici's back home in Maine so I felt pretty good about winning this once a month dinner out for free.

So every month we go to Cici's.  And for those who have a monthly mortgage to make each month you understand how quickly the month goes by.  And not wanting to waste a free meal, we go out.  In fact everytime we go we get a free punch on another ticket they gave us.  For every six meals we get another free.  Oh good!  Guess what?  We have two punch cards completely punched good enough for another two meals on top of my monthly free meal.

Now, I've tried to give a month away a couple of times but it didn't work out.  I tried twice this month to give my ticket away but again no luck.  So guess where we're going tonight?  Yep.  It's June 29th and I waited until the end of the month hoping I could bless another with a free meal.  So not wanting it to go to waste........

"Welcome to Cici's!

I don't buy those things either....because they're not true. It's what the world tells you but it's not the reality at all. But again, it's like getting to know someone, when you finally get to know them, then you realize all those rumors weren't true afterall. Have you ever had that happen before?

Actually it's from my reading the bible KFC, please don't assume. Yes, I have been in that situation, and have been the misinterperated person in question.

and if you look at the exchange in the garden you'd see that this is exactly what Satan was trying to get Adam and Eve to do. He wanted them to take their focus off God and put it on themselves. That's the whole point. It's all about focus.

See, I disagree. I find it to be more about the realization or acknowledgement of sin and mortality.

I hope so Lucas. I do pray for you on occasion. So keep looking for him. He may show up one day and if/when he does, he'll knock you over for sure.

Perhaps, we'll see. I'm still skeptical though, because it seems that any time something good has happened ("God" given so to speak)...it goes down the can and such.

he says......"I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me."

he also says:

"For I  know the thoughts tht I think toward you says the Lord thoughts of peace and not of evil to give you an expected end......and you shall seek me and find me when you shall search for me with your whole heart. "

he also said:

"Call upon me and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things which you knew not."

now you said this:

I just don't buy the vengeful god of the OT

and every single verse I just gave you above came from the OT.  Sound bad?  There's hundreds, perhaps thousands more......So see what I mean by making making a mistake here?  The vengence that you speak of are against those who rail against God.  So if you're only seeing the vengeful God, maybe that's because you are railing against him  yourself?

Think about this.....if you have someone railing against you, making things difficult for you by going against you every which way, isn't it your perogative, especially as God, to be vengeful to make it stop?  Why is this wrong?

If someone was doing hateful things to you, are you telling me you should have no right as a person being done wrong to make things right?  Say someone is slashing your tires, stealing your things, breaking your windows, do you have a right or not to take action against this person?

Words are a whisper when actions speak louder KFC.

Honestly? If someone was hurting my friends or family, I would defend them, but I would not do it in hate, or vengance, or aggressiveness. I would find a way to stop it without violence. Sorry, but I'm a nonviolent/pacifist person by nature. Also, sometimes inaction is the best action.

Who said anything about hate?  God's all about justice, not hate.  The vengeance you see in the OT on occasion against God's enemies is all about justice, not hate.  So when you defend yourself or your family, it's getting justice correct?  If you do nothing it can get progressively worse until it gets stopped......think Hitler.

Same  with God.

Was just clarifying/encompassing all to make a point.
