Nothing To Do With Color

I wish to go on record because it's no secret that Obama's election didn't thrill me to pieces.   But it has nothing, absolutely nothing to do with color.

I am absolutely thrilled that the blacks are represented by a Black President.  I can understand their joy and excitement.   I'm happy for their moment.  I'm glad they have a good family man to to look up to as well.  For many young black men, I hope Obama will inspire them to lead better lives.

That's all well and fine.

I would have been thrilled over the top or beyond measure though,  if he were a Black Republican President  with core conservative values.

res. Obama has treated God and His Law with contempt.

maybe the media has convinced god that he's gotta give obama a lil extra consideration and he's gonna let this one slide.

god just told me he doesn't feel anywhere near as badly mocked by obama as he did when gw bush was governor of texas. after all, bush violated his oath of office and the first amendment proclaiming an official state jesus day but didn't  intervene to save the lives of 152 people executed by that same state.  he also asked me to remind you the fifth commandment doesn't allow wiggle room for capital punishment.

Because what I understood you saying is that had Obama been a black Republican, who thought the way you did you might have accepted him. but being a black Democrat who has the views he does you dont.

But that's not a contradiction.   That's no different than saying I wouldn't vote for Ted Kennedy (a white guy) who is a Democrat but I'd vote for George Bush (another white guy) because he's a Republican.  There's no contradiction there.  For me (and for most) it has nothing to do with color but with issues.

A contradiction is saying one thing and doing another.  So if I said I would never vote for a black (because I'm racist)  and then vote for a black because I found out he was going to give me something (like money in my pocket) that would be a contradiction.

I do agree with you about the family values though, not just for other Black men, the ones who are such irresponsible parents, but for any irresponsible father!

and I don't disagree but you have to admit the blacks (especially young black men)  don't have a slew of good role models in the black community to follow.   They have needed a strong leader for some time now who would challenge them to do the right thing for themselves their families.  Jesse Jackson just doesn't do it.

SNipped this because you make a HUGE point here and I will most likely be called a biggot for this...but Jesse Jackson is doing exactly NO GOOD for blacks...
