After the latest debate this came out by Rick Moran.  Did anyone else catch any of these lies?  I caught a couple and wondered about a few more as I took notes that evening.  One of the issues I wished Palin would have addressed and seemed to ignore was Biden's statement about McCain on regulation.  She could have done some damage had she either done her homework or just answered his charge.

Biden's Big Lies All 14 of Them

Rick Moran

The McCain campaign was out of the box quickly last night, releasing a damning list of 14 lies told by Joe Biden during the debate.

We highlighted below the biggest lie he uttered - that Obama would meet with the leaders of Iran without precondition. Now come 13 more Pinnochios that are breathtaking in their shamelessness:

Here are all 14 lies as compiled by the McCain campaign:

1.    TAX VOTE: Biden said McCain voted ³the exact same way² as Obama to increase taxes on Americans earning just $42,000, but McCain DID NOT VOTE THAT WAY.

2.    AHMEDINIJAD MEETING: Joe Biden lied when he said that Barack Obama never said that he would sit down unconditionally with Mahmoud Ahmedinijad of Iran. Barack Obama did say specifically, and Joe Biden attacked him for it.

3.   OFFSHORE OIL DRILLING: Biden said, ³Drill we must.² But Biden has opposed offshore drilling and even compared offshore drilling to ³raping² the Outer Continental Shelf

4.    TROOP FUNDING: Joe Biden lied when he indicated that John McCain and Barack Obama voted the same way against funding the troops in the field. John McCain opposed a bill that included a timeline, that the President of the United States had already said he would veto regardless of it¹s passage.

5.    OPPOSING CLEAN COAL: Biden says he¹s always been for clean coal, but he just told a voter that he is against clean coal and any new coal plants in America and has a record of voting against clean coal and coal in the U.S. Senate.

6.    ALERNATIVE ENERGY VOTES: According to FactCheck.org, Biden is exaggerating and overstating John McCain¹s record voting for alternative energy when he says he voted against it 23 times.

7.    HEALTH INSURANCE: Biden falsely said McCain will raise taxes on people's health insurance coverage -- they get a tax credit to offset any tax hike. Independent fact checkers have confirmed this attack is false

8.    OIL TAXES: Biden falsely said Palin supported a windfall profits tax in Alaska -- she reformed the state tax and revenue system, it's not a windfall profits tax.

9.    AFGHANISTAN / GEN. MCKIERNAN COMMENTS: Biden said that top military commander in Iraq said the principles of the surge could not be applied to Afghanistan, but the commander of NATO's International Security Assistance Force Gen. David D. McKiernan said that there were principles of the surge strategy, including working with tribes, that could be applied in Afghanistan.

10. REGULATION: Biden falsely said McCain weakened regulation -- he actually called for more regulation on Fannie and Freddie.

11. IRAQ: When Joe Biden lied when he said that John McCain was ³dead wrong on Iraq², because Joe Biden shared the same vote to authorize the war and differed on the surge strategy where they John McCain has been proven right.

12. TAX INCREASES : Biden said Americans earning less than $250,000 wouldn¹t see higher taxes, but the Obama-Biden tax plan would raise taxes on individuals making $200,000 or more.

13. BAILOUT: Biden said the economic rescue legislation matches the four principles that Obama laid out, but in reality it doesn¹t meet two of the four principles that Obama outlined on Sept. 19, which were that it include an emergency economic stimulus package, and that it be part of ³part of a globally coordinated effort with our partners in the G-20.²

14. REAGAN TAX RATES: Biden is wrong in saying that under Obama, Americans won't pay any more in taxes then they did under Reagan.

Well, at least we think he told the truth when he said his name was "Joe Biden."

I never did like the arguments on any side claiming that a politician voted "against" something.  Generally, politicians will vote against a bill because of unnecessary spending lines or extra provisions that do not pertain to the importance of the legislation.  Attacks from every side about voting records I hardly take seriously, because I can do my own research about why a candidate voted a certain way.  When people listen to these candidates attacking the others because of voting records, those are just the candidates' ways of preying on and expanding on ignorance.

Did anybody else notice Joe Biden's contradicting himself when it came to the subject of defining the job of VP?  One minute he spoke about the VP's duties involving the legistlative branch, and how important that function is.  The Palin said something somewhat similar.  Then Biden turned around and said that the VP has no duties pertaining to the Legislative branch what-so-ever!

That being said, I have to play a little devil's advocate here.

2.    AHMEDINIJAD MEETING,  Actually Obama didn't say this specificly.  The question asked to him was state"...meet with LEADERS of countries...", Ahmedinijad's name was never mentioned.  One could argue, and the die hard liberals are, that he was answering "Yes" based on the idea that Iran's leaders don't include Ahmedinijad.  We all know this is a bogus spin, but really it's more of a spin than a lie when you look at the linguistics of it.

10. REGULATION, This also falls into spin vs. lie realm.  McCain did vote for de-regulation many times.  The Democratic spin machine artfully crafts this fact to make it appear that McCain voting "No" to painfull and unnecesary regulation caused our current economic crises.  They dodge the "McCain warned us about Fannie and Freddie" bullet by bringing up his votes regarding other regulations.  More spin.

In the end the Democratic spic is deceptive and evil, but not necassarily outright lies.  The other things you mentioned, yes, bold lies.

The only good thing going for Obama is his age.  Just pray real hard he does not die in office.

Yes Biden made some mistakes... but they needed to be called out at the debate as he made them because very few will look back to check the facts (and the media coverage will be different). All politicians know this. So if you can get it by the first time that is all the people hear about it. The "true believers" don't care if the information is factual (works especially well for the left considering most of the MSM is on their side), the hardcore on the other side will dig up the info, but it rarely gets to the people sitting on the fence. It's a shame.
