More like Burden Teeth to me

I'm home today nursing a very sore toothache, actually it's an impacted wisdom tooth that has been years in the making. I was advised to take this out when I was in my early 30's but it wasn't bothering me then. It will not be an easy one to take out, as a bone has to be cut to get at it. The very thought of this makes me ill. I called the surgeon (a friend of mine) and his secretary put me in for the 8th of June. There is no way I will be able to make it that long.

Advil is my closest friend right now. At night I switch to Advil Pm and this morning I felt so drugged I couldn't wake up until almost noon. The whole left side of my face is very sore all the way up and around my ear. At times the pain is so severe I feel like I could pass out. I'm not used to this as I've been about as healthy as anybody. I've only been to the hospital three times to deliver my kids and even then I didn't take even one Tylenol until all was said and done.

My other three wisdom teeth came out easily. All three came thru the gums so it was a breeze to take out. When my surgeon friend (another guy I know) advised me to take this last one out back then, he did admit I may never have trouble with it. So I played that game thinking why look for trouble then? I could get hit by a car the very next day. Why cut a hole in my mouth if I didn't need it done?

Now, I'm thinking, maybe I should have had it done? But, I'm still thinking it's much easier to go in and get cut when you're in pain and wanting whatever's causing the pain to just get out. My sister in law in her mid 20's had hers out and had a numb feeling on the whole side of her face for many months which caused her to talk funny. She, at the time, advised me NOT to do it for that reason. So, now I'm hoping I don't get that numbness that she got. As you get older, the healing is not as quick. What I do have going for me is I'm in good physical shape. Not sure how that affects my mouth tho.

Does anybody have any idea why they call them Wisdom Teeth? What's so wise about having extra teeth that are useless?

Anyhow, it's time for my friend Advil to pay me a visit.

ha, oh ya, it was wasn't it? Sorry bout that. But do tell me......are you trying to push my button? I'm sure you know by now, who doesn't .......that I'm of the young earth persuasion?

But com'on a million years? Look how far we've come in a 100 years. It doesn't make any sense to me.

But, hey, if you've got some "new" evidence, I'm all ears.
