Who are we really working for?

I'd love to give credit where credit is due. I found this among my "stuff" this weekend and thought I'd share. It's really not funny and actually made me mad when I read this. Are there any that I missed?

WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED?

Deference, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone on this page is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul

Your premise, therefore, is completely wrong. You asserted that 2 people in a family HAVE to work to afford a new home. That is not true at all. The price for a house that is the same size as those in 1941 is half the price of the $245,000 (and I'm being generous with the price because that's at the PEEK of the housing bubble that just burst). $120,000 houses are affordable by the average income earner in the United States.

Why do people not understand the meaning of the words "average" or "median"? When someone sees an "average" home price of X dollars, they act as if that's the MINIMUM home price.

Why should someone who works at McDonald's be automatically entitled to a 2,000 square foot home on 1/3 acre? Especially when the majority of the world's population would be ecstatic about possessing a house a fraction of that size on a lot a fraction of that size.

The government could easily balance the budget by 1. Eliminating the IRS and 2. Just have us flush our money down the toilet ourselves, thus elminating the middle man.

Seriously, government has no business talking about raising our taxes another penny until some measure of fiscal responsibility and accountability is put into place and they stop wasting billions of our dollars every year.

Wanna see a big change in how our elected representatives conduct themselves? Force them to enact a change in how they get paid. They should be paid whatever the average spendable income is for the area they represent.

Mason.....you get an A. I loved your response. Right on IMO.

I think you should run for President. I'd vote for you. I like your platform.

Thanks. That's only one plank in my platform. I would also help both the overcrowding and parking problems in urban areas by instituting the death penalty for parking violations.

All I know is that, when I worked as a paramedic we made around $40,000... with that we qualified for a mortgage on a 4 bedroom house (yes, an older one, but still), while paying for our second car and I was looking for a motorcycle...

All the while my kids seemed to have what they needed in the way of food, clothing, school supplies and the ocassional family outing to dinner or a movie.

and yes, my wife was a stay at home mom.

Ted, don't take this wrong....but I hope you didn't get one. We've had so many deaths here recently regarding motorcycles and we live in a country atmosphere. Just last week a 16 year old pulled out in front of two motorcyclists. Both men were in their 50's. One died instantly and the other may not make it. Then again three days ago, a similar accident resulting in death as well. My fellow head coach got into two such accidents. Both were cars that didn't see him and pulled right out in front. The second one he almost lost his life. He said he'd never ride one again. It's not like the old days. Too many people on the road. Too many kids driving.
